Hey,

Just caught up to this thread. Very cool spot.

Going to try and get up there this weekend from MDR.

There's also a mooring off the Malibu Pier that's available for public use. A lifeguard friend tipped me off, I've seen it but didn't know it was ok to use.

Blow up a small tender... throw a small electric outboard on it ! Brave the surf and get to shore !!!

Haven't actully done it though.

When we went to Paradise Cove we just floated, buzzed the yachts, and chased jetskis.

I don't think I would leave a boat out there unless it is for a limited period of time with known weather and wave conditions. I suppose a Boston Whaler would be OK since it can't sink. That area is calm mostly, but having lived in the Santa Monica area, it can get plenty nasty, too. Waves have gone through the windows of homes in Malibu.

Yeah, during winter storms. The weather in sept-oct is the best we have. During mild santa ana's the ocean in that area is a millpond close to the beach.
