CONFIRMED

Lastnite a couple of Bridgewater channel updates were announced by the Police dept and Park & Recs.

LHCPD
1) The max boat length of 36' will be removed

2) Two new rest/storage buildings will be built for Police and Fire personel, with this also comes the strong possibility of external water lines for rinse off showers along the channel. The building at the southeast end ( near Rotary Park ) will have public restrooms. The other building is located near the Dog park restrooms.

Park & Recs
1) Another 800' of seawall will begin mid September. This will take it to the swimming area Island side south exit.

Changes include:
Pushing it back to the 451' mark to allow for more beach parking when the lake is up.

Three access openings to get up to the sidewalk.

The sandbar/wash run off at the southeast end of the channel will be cleaned up, but that may not happen until early next spring.

STATE PARKS
State Parks anounced Windsor is getting DOCK help,BUT he needs 34K to get a matching 100K grant.

Tim who manages Windsor knows the docks need help and is commited to replacing and extending them before next spring. He showed a proposal to the LHCMA, City and many residents and it was well received. The new docks would accomodate boats up to 40'. Also noted was a new breakwater wall to ease launching and retrieving and docks only at the Windsor 4 beach.

Tim is looking for private contributions to make it happen. If you would like more info he can be contacted at 928-855-2784

Last big TWO....
The Contact Point marina is moving forward! There's an impact study being done right now. This takes approx 8 months to complete. The concensus is construction could start as early as Fall next year, no exact date until next year.

Starting this fall The Chemehuevi Indian Tribe and LHCMA are placing trash bags on poles ( kinda like restroom towel dispensers) on many of the lakes beaches. There is a huge lake clean-up effort going on. The pictures of the last clean up are pretty disgusting! Pack it in PACK IT OUT.

That's all for now.

Awesome, but like anybody paid attention to that one anyway. Of course my friend basically was kicked out of the channel about 6 years ago with his Formula 419.

Thanks for the update Todd. Sounds like all good things happening.

Where's the new marina going in? near body beach? Do you have a map?

I HATE the marina people and refuse to launch, get fuel, or use the store there. azzholes is an understatement.

It's nice to have the 36' limit lifted in the channel officially. I've never really had a problem except one time in a friends Tiger we were asked to leave while cruising through. Cops were cool, just asked us to move through since it was sooooo busy. Glad to be able to not worry about getting booted from the channel now!

The new marina location is south of Body Beach. Contact Point is the area that houses the law enforcment boats.

Although I did get sound checked in my 31' a few years ago, they don't allow boats above 30-32' and the owner supposedly is an a**hole, I have never had a problem with the people at the gas dock or store. I dump my waste there all the time (usually gas up on the trailer) and the people in the store are pleasant. I'll pay $10 to my worst enemy to take my s*it of my hands....Mike

My whole thing is the owner owns the ramp, the store, the fuel dock and the sh!tter pump. He is completely against performance boats. The reasoning he says they wont take boats above 30-32 is due to dredging issues and that for some reason they think a larger boat creates more problems . When in all reality it's just his dislike of performance boats.

They do DB testing at the dock and it's been shown over and over again they are not doing them properly as well as it's f*cking dock hands doing it! HELLO? You have to be a trained LE to conduct it legally.

Also they have guest docks there but will not rent to performance boats.

So I say FUUUUUUUUCK THEM and all that comes with their marina.

Can't wait until the new marina opens, all the performance boaters that are using the main marina out of convienence will hopefully leave it and let that azzhat put himself out of business!

IVE PISSED THEM OFF BEFORE AND IT FELT GREAT.MIKE,WHEN I OWNED YOUR SCARAB,WE STAYED 1/2 A WEEK AT ONE END OF THE LAKE,THE OTHER 1/2 WE DECIDED TO STAY IN THE CITY SO I HAD MY FRIEND DRIVE MY TRUCK FROM BLACKMEADOW LANDING TO THE MARINA.I HAD MY BUDDY TELL THEM WE ARE JUST PARKING HERE BECAUSE THE BOAT WAS ALREADY IN THE WATER.WITH THE EMPTY TRAILER AND TRUCK,THEY LET HIM AND ONLY CHARGED HIM FOR PARKING.WHEN IT WAS TIME TO GO HOME,I HAD MY BUDDY GET THE TRUCK,BACK DOWN THEIR RAMP AND I PUT THE SCARAB(38')RIGHT ON THE TRAILER.IT WAS GREAT TO SEE THERE MOUTHS DROP.ONE GUY EVEN CAME OVER AND TOLD US WE COUNT NOT DO THAT.I SAID "YOUR TELLING ME I CANT PULL MY BOAT OUT OF THE WATER ?DO YOU WANT ME TO PUT IT BACK IN?"HE DIDNT KNOW WHAT TO SAY BECAUSE IF I PUT IT BACK IN,IT WOULD BE LAUNCHING WHICH IS AGAINST THERE RULES.HE CONTINUED WELL,WELL.I ENEDED UP TELLING HIM TO GO AND F**K YOUR SELF AND GET OUT OF THE WAY.THEN WE JUST DROVE OFF.
THE RAMP WILL SUPPORT ANY PERFORMANCE BOAT.

If this dumbazz is really dead set against performance boats he must be independently wealth and doing this for fun. What uses more fuel, a 38 twin engine go fast or a single engine 6 cyl bayliner. Simple economics.

I can't wait for the Indians on the California side to figure out how to take advantage of the money coming into Havasu (ie: some kind of bridge). I'm sure they'd cater to the money, I mean performance crowd.
