San Francisco Bay
Just wondering how many of you go out on the bay? I don't see many performance boats around.
I'm looking to buy a boat and could use some suggestions for:
Thanks! Looking forward to meeting some of you eventually!
I'm looking to buy a boat and could use some suggestions for:
- A marine surveyor. Especially one familiar with performance boats. How much can I expect to pay?
- A place to keep it on or adjacent to the water (I don't have a truck to trailer it). Mariner Square Marina's drystack storage looks like one good option.
Thanks! Looking forward to meeting some of you eventually!

Hi names Jaime from Bethel Island. Where are you from and what kind of boat are you looking for. There are a lot of boats in the Bay Area now that are very reasonably priced. As far as the SF Bay goes maybe 1 or 2 timees a year, i mostly stay east of Pittsburg. SFOcean whos on this board is out there quite a bit more i think. JAIME

I'm in SF but would likely keep the boat in Alameda or somewhere nearby but not in SF.
Looking for a ~30-35ft boat, room for ~6 people, sleeps 2 people, ~65MPH, good condition, probably early 2000s or newer. Budget is ~$50K.
Thanks.

I' ll keep u in mind as there are a lot of boats in my area. There is one that I know of in Clayton that would do great in the bay but its a little older. 91 Powerplay 33', Teague motors, 45k. Its listed here in the classifieds. Last time i seen it was about 6 years ago, looked nice. Jaime

I stay in the delta as well and try and avoid the salt with the exception of a Bay run in the fall (Blue Angels)...which I haven't done in awhile. Performance boating is kindof dead around here relative to what it was.
I have used Brendan Schmidt for surveys in past...looks like he's still around..

x's2 you need something with a heater lol
Your budget is going to limit you to something a little older than you are hoping for, unless you find something that needs work that you can do yourself and save some money. Good luck with your search !!

Update! I ended up getting a 2003 Sleekcraft Heritage 30.
Took it out on the bay every day this weekend and it was a blast. Went out the gate to watch the USS Iowa leaving on Sat, watched the fireworks on Sun night (that was, um, exciting... super crowded and dark), and hit up Angel Island on Monday.
A bit cold and choppy but still tons of fun.
