Gecko boat?
 

Who is running the gecko boat? I guess someone on the LI sound has it, cause I have seen it a couple of times in my neck of the woods . It was at steamboat in Glen Cove yesterday. Tom

A Friend Bought That Boat Out Of Fla. About 2 Yrs. Ago And Has Been Running It In The Sound Since. The Boat Runs Strong And Handles Water Very Good

Baddog,thanks . I saw the boat come in to GC with a 27 Kryponite. The kryponite is owned by holden.

Holden has a 27 Kryponite with purple interior....The Gecko boat is owned by Jo Jo and comes out of the same place as Holden (Nichols Yacht Yard)

Thanks Sp Girl, When are you guys gonna play with another activator.

PS : I will try to post pictures of a 27 activator interior that my buddy at Cover Craft just did. It looks fantastic. Our shops are in the same building. :drink:

maybe someday :D ..... Jay has been really busy with his NEW boat transport business, we had to pull HUGE strings to get away for the poker run.... I don't see us getting to go boating very much this year....

The F1-70 boat was owned and throttled by Dave and Driven By Steven in SBI about three years ago. They are out of NY/NJ area. Steven is a friend of mine and I saw them race alot. The boat was very strong at the time with a 500HP and I believe they won a Championship...

Some history of the Gecko boat.
The boat was built over the winter of 2000-2001. The boat is a 2001. It raced the 2001 season until a spin out in St. Pete. caused major medical problems for throttle guy Dominic, He almost lost his arm. The boat has my old 500efi in it, we swapped it out before the second race in Key West 2001. We had one of the lowest HP motor's(Dynoed @473 at innovation) Gecko motor had 495HP, so we switched.
The boat is actually all Green gelcoat under the Gecco paint job. The boat was competitive and runs very good. I believe this boat was for sale for $43,000 when Diamond Dave bought it. (What a steal!)

Do you know if Dave still races, last I heard he spun out in the old Virgin boat.

Dave is currently not racing . He spun the Virgin boat while testing in March of 2003. In very cold water (36 degrees) :eek: . Hes lucky to be alive. And, that there was a fisherman close by to call for help.
