I remember Hyperactive during the US Offshore days...one of most impressive race boats of that era.The driver and throttleman were fearless;it was amazing to see that small boat run so well in rough water..often passing bigger boats in higher classes.Have fun with it this summer.

RLW, I will take some shots this week, the transom does have a notch and a small splash well. I don't know what the tank is made of. Do you still have the 27'?

Matt,
I sold the 27 back in April. I wasn't using it hence the sale. Big thanks to BJ Maher for putting out the word.
I do have an interest in the SOB style boats. The small splash well on your boat is what I like. I really can't see why the manufacturers (Tuff, Intimidator, Superboat) are incorporating this feature (large splash well) in these size boats if a setback is being used. Seems like wasted space. Maybe I am missing something. The gas tank is probably aluminum. That would be a good question for the boys over at S&F.
Here's a pic of your boat, back in the day.
