Since you are looking at NY boats it's probably safe to say you are on LI, but there is a very sweet, 2005 32' Activator at PowerboatsNW w 850 hp blower motor.

I know they are aching to sell that boat and you could probably make any deal you wanted on it.
I have seen it a few times and it is SWEET!!

Dude! Sweet! 01-30-2008 10:28 AM

My buddy was very interested in that boat and called about it a couple times last year. I think he went as far as to call Louie and JC as well. But he kept getting the run-around from the salesman about the motor and drive, the hours on it and why the boat got painted. (I personally loved it when it was blue and didn't have the rub rail!)

They both are really nice boats. Personally, I think the Y2K is a better looking boat. I don't think you could go wrong either way!

I do like them both. Activator's have a pretty solid reputation of being able to handle rough water and it gets pretty snotty on the Sound where I would be using it, but so does the Y2k. Both are similiar, narrow beam, integrated swim platform, steps. I haven't driven in either of them. I'd like to know, especially given the narrow beam, do these boats tend to chine walk a bunch. I know people say that it is the driver's fault sometimes, but I think some boats by design are more predisposed to it.....is either of these one of them?

Check out this link from the Activator website:

http://www.activatorboats.com/Press.php

It shows test results for 2 east coast boats(Activator and Superboat) and 2 west coat boats(Advantage and Eliminator). All boats had 525's. Activator ran 79 and Superboat ran 72.

The superboat ran 72 because it had a 496 HO
