I think they are testing it today. We are planning on doing the River run!

Big Time 10-08-2014 01:33 PM

The guys might be bringing it up to Old Saybrook today for testing if the water isn't right in our area. Need to get a good basline reading on the flat stuff before running her in the open water. Understand the are throwing a pair of 28 bravo's on there for now, so we'll see. Needs a lot a break-in time though so not sure we'll get any #'s on it today.... but still very excited

Spoke to my dad last night...hadn't heard anything and he wants to give the guys at Rage time to do their thing. I'm sure we'll have an update after this weekend. At this point, there is no reason to rush anything, guys at Rage will get it dialed in.

Took it out today for the first time was a bit rough about 3 to 4s with an occasional 5 we are real happy with how it ran in the ruff water. She flew nice and level was able to run mid 70s at cruise speed. Were going to watch the winds and wave height and go out again tomorrow or sat if its a little calmer. We thought the 28 bravo 4 blade would be a little big but the boat planed right off and had excellant acceleration. We will shoot for a top speed next time out. t

blkmtrfan 10-09-2014 04:23 PM

Very cool and thanks for the update,
Look forward to hearing the final numbers

ItsPeanut 10-10-2014 01:06 AM

Wow Congrats. The boat turned out great. Spent some time on a 27 O/B and it was one of my favorite boats of all time. Can't wait to hear some more good news.

Black Wishbone 10-10-2014 09:29 AM

Is that the launching ramp in Stratford? If you go up the Housatonic pass The Dock, the water is calm and you should have plenty of room to run it. PS if you do go let me know I would love to see it run,
Steve

It is the Birdseye ramp, Steve. Later on I heard they did go up river and had it at 85 MPH(still room to go higher). Apparently the break in on these motors is pretty specific about RPM ranges, etc.

Mange 10-10-2014 12:19 PM

Nice numbers so far!! :)

Black Wishbone 10-17-2014 09:40 AM

The weather is suppose to be nice for the next 3 days. Lets get some numbers. Three in a row would be nice. :D

Gladhe8er 10-17-2014 02:46 PM

They ran it this week at 87 MPH at 5900 RPM. Gonna play with the engine height and try some smaller props this weekend. I'll get some pics too.

scarab63 10-17-2014 07:18 PM

nice #S are those motors spinning full revs yet, or still breaking in?
not sure if i love or hate the transom.......the rest is pretty pimp

Still breaking in. Oil still in the tank. #'s will only go up as we play with it.

I see your Dad and Rich but can make out the driver is that you Pete? How did it handle?

Gladhe8er 10-20-2014 01:40 PM

Yes I was driving at that point. This is a fun boat! Handled the 2 footers amazingly. Acceleration is awesome. We still have some set-up changes to make, but we are getting there.

innerrage 10-20-2014 03:32 PM

wow looks awesome love the colors

dkwestern 10-20-2014 04:57 PM

You put oil in the gas? I thought the ECU added extra oil during break in.

Sorry that's what I meant

Mange 10-21-2014 07:01 AM

It's good to see that boat on water!! :) I bet Mark going to get some orders for 30 RAGE outboard boats now!

noli 11-07-2014 07:59 AM

what's the latest on this awesome boat? Is it going to FL for the winter or is it winterized and waiting for spring to come?

We are waiting for other props to test. Will be testing a bit more up north here, then we will winterize until spring.

Boat looks awesome! Any updates?

Starting to think about getting it ready to hit the water soon. We still have to find the right combo of engine height and prop. Right now they are working on a small windscreen for it. After that is on the cockpit cover can be made. Full cover and engine bags being ordered soon(It's been inside at Rage so no need for this stuff...yet).

eagledm44 05-22-2015 08:35 PM

Sorry guys can't figure how to post pictures. I will have my son post later on. My cell is 203-223-2103

First weekend out with the new Rage OB. Seems like the guys finally got the set up right. Turning Bravo XS vented 29P props at 5900 RPM we are seeing 87 MPH. With a little prop tweaking, should be right at 90. Boat accelerates hard and looks great on the water.

turbo rr 05-26-2015 07:59 PM

Dammit! If you get those puppies to spin up to 6300 you will be well into the 90's

pro27 07-01-2015 06:23 PM

How is this boat running, any updates?

Gladhe8er 07-06-2015 09:55 AM

Not much new to report. Only had it out twice so far this year. Motors might be past break in now, but haven't rung it out yet to try to touch 90.

noli 03-18-2016 05:34 AM

.

Hi what top-end numbers were reached in 2015?

.

Gladhe8er 03-18-2016 10:35 AM

87, but still never had ideal conditions to push it. This year I want to take it out by myself in a 1' chop and see what # I can get. After that, may think about labbing props depending on what RPM's we see stock.

Gladhe8er 03-20-2016 03:05 PM

Talked to Rich yesterday. He says he is going to move the motors up a notch. Based on prior testing with different props, this move should get us to 90 without any prop work.
