Re: AT Fuel Tank Question

I have never seen or heard of a fiberglass fuel tank in any boat  Maybe Hot boat is refering to something that the west coast builders tried or something.tHERE IS JUST NO WAY A AN F-GLASS TANK WOULD WORK. Unless it had some kind of liner in it.

Re: AT Fuel Tank Question

Thanks for the discussion - I have wondered if the vents may have been catching water. I'll definitely look into that.

I have heard that a few boats do use fiberglass tanks - Skater was using them for a while... not sure if they do now.

As I bought this boat in July, I'm not sure what kind of gas was in the tanks before I owned it. The tanks were full and had set for about 8 months according to the previous owner - the water probably came from that. I'm the guy in the area that actually talks to the truck drivers when they fill the tanks, I also stay away from gas stations with any ethanol. Since I started running it, only good gas (that I know of) was being used.
