I have a 2005 Active 28 that had a 496HO till today--my 525 was just delivered today!!! What prop do I have to go to? Aslo, my 496 is in the classifieds w/the silent choice. Thanks

Here is a picture----there were 2 28's in virginia for sale last summer, suncoast dave got the other one, wish I knew his was for sale again! So instead a got the 525 to install.

Congrats !!!! you will love the boat. Ihad a 26 4 blade bravo, But mine was an ITS xr soif you have a standard xr you may need somting different:cool:

I ran a 24 Bravo on my 2001 28 AT with Bravo XR drive. Saw 71 with HP500efi.

What Hp is the Hp 500, not a dumb question I hope, because the 525 is somewhere between 540-560Hp from the little I know. thanks vic

I see 33 2006 next to your name, how do you like it, spoke with AT about a 33 w/ 496HO and 525's--couldn't do it this year, still like my 28 just not to happy with the speed of the 496HO. My brother has a spectre cat w/ 300's so when you do over 100MPH 63 just did not cut it anymore.

Hate to say it but on my wish list is a 33 w/525's, not sure it is before or after the whipple and the imco shorty. Best of luck, AT does make a nice boat and to think I started looking at these because it had an enclosed head(3 little kids).

I would talk to Pat before running or spending the money on a shorty. The word is that it is a waste of money from what I heard.

nice 28, what top end difference are you expecting from the 525, or is it more midrange??. My next choice would be the 33 also, but my choice would be 496ho's I think for the insurance rate break. But on the other hand.........525 'swould be sweet:drink:

I know twin 525's, the insurance guy would have fun with that. I am hoping to see low 70's and mid range improvement. Just worked out with buying the 525 and selling basically a new 496Ho not a bad deal. The cmi headers for a 496HO would have been 4-5K including install. For not much more I was able to pull off a swap(as long as the 496HO sells!?)

Got your message.

Go with an unworked 26 Bravo for a starting point. That should get you mid 70s with no problem.

Odds are a Mercury hi-perf 28 lab will be the ultimate.

No experience with 5 bladers yet but the Maxi labbed by Mercury might be the ticket as well. Just pricey experimentation.

Just got back from punta cana in the D.R. Now thats a place I would love to run a boat.
