I had some buddies at the Miami show 1 year ago go look at that boat for me.....they said it was dirty and that the paint looked like it had been put on with a roller because it looked so bad. The overall fit and finish was poor and the boat needed alot of work to be a nice piece. (no major issues, just alot of little ones) No one was around to show the boat, they were told to walk out back and take a look.
When I did talk to Larry he said he'd put 500EFI's he had laying around in it for $99K

not to sound like an idiot, but what do you mean with out a liner?

There is no cabin liner. The floors walls are all uplostered instead of being finished fiberglass, you can still get the 28/33/37 with or with out. The liner will add some weight up front. Just a finish thing.

I have seen the boat in person and it is definitely in need of some attention. The interior and cabin was filthy and was not the best colors for accents on the white interior( I use the term loosely). The paint looks like it was put on by Stevie Wonder. As long as the hull is still sound, the paint is no big deal. The boat would have to be stripped right down. That being said, anything can be made into something nice if you want to spend the money. I am sure Pat and company can have it looking like a brand new boat in no time. It is a straight bottom, so I am sure it will ride nice but it will not be that fast with the 502's. It is still an Active Thunder, so with a little attention you will have yourself a very nice boat. I would encourage you to research the cost before you buy the boat. You don't wan't to spend almost a 100k and then have to sink another 50k into it. For not that much more you can get a newer AT, with better power and a stepped hull.

I knew there had to be more to that boat than what we see in the pics. So any guess as to what would make it a good deal?

t500hps 02-21-2007 08:45 PM

exactly 12 months ago bottom dollar was $90K as it sits, $99K with 500EFI's.

OH so now it has the 500's....... well that changes things Lets see Paint---upol---trialer----500 rebuilds?

JBYRD65 02-21-2007 10:16 PM

It all depends on what one would like to spend. My guess is 40k to do it up right. If a survey showed no structural damage to the hull, I would figure the right number on the boat is 70 to 75k. Just my opinion after seeing it in person. As always though,it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

I was one of them that checked the boat out for t500hp's. Boy was I disapointed in it. It can be brought back to like new but is it worth the expense and time. The price would have to reflect that. So total rubuild of the boat......
Paint 25,000
Interior 10,000
Motors 502,s ?????? What shape....Need?????Rebuild $12,500
Drive's ?????? Gone thru $2,500
Trailer 7,500
Misc Items...$5,000
Total; $62,500

Buy the baot for $90,000

For $152,500 I` would look elsewhere for a step bottom.

I just can not justify that in a straight bottom 502 boat.
You would have to buy the boat for $50,000
