Sorry to butt in on the non picture posting KW'ers, but I had some gas to burn and finally got the boat out today. It's been sitting for a month with 3/4 bag and I definitely don't want to leave it sitting all winter.

I'm still nursing an ice cream headache. But I hit 87!! And that's with my stock props. Even today they would only spin up to 5150. (A set of Maximus is definitely on my Christmas list.)

Trying to burn some gas I kept running back and forth across our local bay, which is perfect for WOT runs when the wind is out of the NE. I discovered another thing...this boat will crank a turn! Not at speed mind you...I'm not stupid.

Fun day. Not as fun as getting 9.0 on Duval Street, but fun none the less. :cool:

Hot and humid weather will definitely rob you of some ponies. Sounds like a nice run.

Cold air and fuel has a big advantage on performance mine has never run crisper. Another 2 or 3 hundred rpm and 3 or 4 MPH. Have fun

Trimmed up to 5 - 6 and maybe a tad more. I normally run with them indexed which I believe is just above 3. When you throw the sticks forward and trim up you can really feel the hull break loose. :cool:

But it runs just as stable at WOT as it does at 77.

My back is still in bad shape. I thought it best to lay low and hope to shoot for the next weekend. I also need to change oil and wash it down for the full cover.

6-7 on the trim is optimal for WOT. You had a little more left. the boat should ride stable.

We came back today in 6-8's from MIA to Pampano. I kept it between 55-65 the entire way. The AT is the best Rough water boat. That actually came from a guy who went out in the Green 700 boat. He owns a very large Apache. He said that the ride is the best kept secrete in boating.

I've actually trimmed higher than 7 until I felt her break free and then settled it back down a c hair at a time until we were hooked up again.

6-8's again. And I missed it!! Rock on Clark! :D

Well, to be honest, I'm not absolutely sure where I had the trim. I bet that last run was up there. I'm more concerned with watching the other gauges and do trim mostly by feel. I momentarily scrubbed one of my passes because I noticed the water pressure gauge on my SB motor was on zero. Turned out the needle had made a full revolution. :rolleyes::D

I do have enough gas for one last blast. We'll see.

What was the water like coming out of Key West when you were on the outside? I talked to Bob and Shari last night and they were going to stay until today. I think it was just an excuse to get in one more night of drinking.:D

WHat he said outside of Key West. From MIA to Pompano was a different story.

Bob and Shari were on that 47 Reggie Cruizer with the triple diesels.
Keith..the owner..told me they were questioning going because they were running from K.W. to Ft. Myers.
In the middle of their trip it was forecasted to be 5-6 headon seas.
I figured it could take it but he said it would be like bow up..bow down and VERY wet over the front.
Go figure for that price boat.
Bob told me on the way down in the N.W. Passage just outside K.W. they were almost 5's standing straight up and he didn't think it was that bad a ride.
It was a lovely decked out boat.
