I can confirm that! :D

Those BT cabins really are something. We had two in the club at one time. (Both owners moved up to cruisers. :party-smiley-004:) I remember, one happy hour, we had three couples down there partying in the spacious condo.

I see that becoming a regular occurance for you James. :cool-smiley-011:

Don't need 4 feet itus, I'd be giving up my speed advantage. :p

Yep! I kept up as long as my wife would let me keep the sticks down. She absolutely hates poker runs! :(

What's a husband to do?

Steve, want some company on the less than 'hammer down' cruise this year? Diane would be ALL over it! And that would garantee a run all the way to Richmond...:party-smiley-004:

Sounds good. That way we can swap Scott around and get some good pics of both of us. :D

BTW, never said I wasn't gonna put the sticks all the way forward. :)

excursion 01-11-2008 07:42 PM

I will have the sticks down and try to keep up with the AT's cruise speed. :cool-smiley-026: Not going to be used to the back of the pack:eek:

James, I'll hang with ya at half throttle for some interesting helo shots. VS awards....:D

Ca$hed Out 01-11-2008 08:03 PM

Before I talk a big game, I need to remind myself that Lisa will be with me for the first time on this run. Not sure she will let me keep the sticks down the whole way. She has a way of persuading me to make the right decision :evilb:

R Addiction 01-12-2008 08:22 AM

Looking forward to them James. Don't worry we'll be in the back with ya. Last year we joined in at the 1st stop.....great shots of everyone running and a constant flow of boats to show the way after Macklin left me in his wake!!:p

John, you have to admit that was a most enjoyable slow cruise down the Rivah!

But the ego took over...until Diane's screaming in my ear finally registered. :angry-smiley-038:

R Addiction 01-12-2008 08:47 AM

Mack, Is that what we heard?!!! LMAO!!! And yes a liesurely cruise down the Rivah on a picture perfect morning........is it July yet?:p

Well, since we have stolen James' thread...and I'm bored...I'll relate exactly why Diane hates poker runs. It's not the poker run experience, but the conglomeration of boats she hates. Heck, she started telling me to speed up towards the end of the summer after I got seat time in this boat. We both love it!

The first poker run we ran together (wouldn't you know it) was one of the first HRPA runs. We came screaming out of Little Creek Inlet with everyone bunched up real close...like they all are. I noticed our charter member Rob come from port across my wake within a few feet, pass me to starboard and then cut back in front of me by a few feet. At about 60 mph! Focher!!

Not the best go fast boat driver he was. Sold his Checkmate not long after that and bought a fishing boat. Then he and his wife Kim, who was doing boat detailing at the time, went on to form Hammerhead Boat Works...aka...Frenzy.
