This Fountain has a MSRP of $386,500.00 Thats $100.000.00 more than I have in my AT. WTF  I see why Fountain stock is $1.00 a share and there sales are down. :hitfan:

ActiveThunder 01-12-2008 10:09 PM

It looks like Egg-beaters!:p

Ca$hed Out 01-12-2008 10:17 PM

Mark - I saw that boat today at the show. This was a 35 with 525's in it for that price! The interior looks like something you would see from Miami Vice. Reggie may have a fast hull however, he needs to pull his interior designs out of the 80's. Sunsation had an F4 about 50 yds from this which is why Fountain had no traffic at their booth :evilb:

In all honesty, I am not trying to stir the pot. In fact, I generally stay away from threads where the brand loyal freaks pick apart other boats. I actually like Fountains and considered one at a certain point in life. However, Mark was the former owner of a Fountain and I am sure he would agree...the cockpit design looked like it had not been updated in about 20 years. When maufacturers like Sunsation and AT are raising the bar with their designs, it makes these things a bit more obvious.

cosmic12 01-13-2008 08:42 AM

I know what you mean, I'm not stiring up anything eather just saying it will be a thread to watch and enjoy, I hope, The cult has been taking alot of heat lately and it sure has been fun. I say let the fun begin:p

Your right the Fountain booth was dead and I had to wait in line to get on the F-4. The Fountain didn't look bad other than the small dated cockpit but who in their right mind would pay that for a boat that small. I had a 35 with 496s and bought it brand new in Sept. 04 and paid $148,000 for it.

I paid a good bit less than that for my PQ340 with 496s and loaded up. I won't say how much because I don't want to give Pat a heart attack...:D

R Addiction 01-13-2008 06:43 PM

All that for a 31 foot boat!!:Whatever:

Reckless32 01-14-2008 03:32 PM

All said, as Fountains go it was a nice looking piece.

True just a ridiculous price. That's more money than one of our fellow club members paid new for his 06 38 Cig TG.

chuckbeecher 01-14-2008 08:52 PM

What show is that ?

It was a small show in Richmond this past weekend.

cosmic12 01-14-2008 09:45 PM

Was that the show/sale price or the retail?

Ok then, At the risk of being ousted from the cult (not defending Fountian eather) What is Pats retail for a 33 with 525s? Presonaly I think they are all out of controll and yes I understand costs an all but something has gotta give here. When you see some of the price's on new or used Cigs N.t.OL or some of the cats all I can do is shake my head in wonder and amasement. What will next year bring? P.S. you guys know I am a die hard A.T. guy but I just can't understand any of it.

$325K list with all the bells, 525s, paint, trailer--loaded; Retail List.

You can't take a boat of this caliber to market by pricing/building it cost-up. You have to do it list down. There was a lengthy thread about this some time ago. Costs change EVERY DAY, so aiming high on the retail is really the only way to do it. Whether you end up paying 3, 6, 9, 12, 14, or whatever points off of list depends on exactly how, when, and where that deal goes down. The more nosebleed you make the list, the more you can monkey around with discount.

cosmic12 01-15-2008 07:35 AM

Yup I know. And I know the game that is played with all the #s. I just see it getting worse and worse, where will it end? The market has already shut out a largest percentage of buyers out there. I wounder what the #s really are now of funded buyers at shows compared to dreamers ( like me :D ) What is it 1 in 10 - 1 in 20 - 1 in 30 ?? From what I see all over in my travels it just isn't getting any better. Maybe by posting that price Fountian is just weeding out the rail rubbers ,or its more of Reggies hype, we all know that boat can be bought for 150 - 185 range, and thats way to much.

Knot 4 Me 01-15-2008 07:38 AM

Just a few years ago Fountain was advertising a 35' Executioner with 496 HO's for $149K. That was a basic graphics package, no frills, and no trailer. Sat on one at Raymond's in LOTO.
