Jammin' on the James additional details for the AT folks...

There is a little clarification that needs to be made for some of the remote folks coming in for this run.

The Poker Run is 1-way on Saturday, from Richmond, VA to Portsmouth, VA; which is about 100 miles each way.

SATURDAY NIGHT dockage (only) is what is payed for in addition to your poker run entry.

You need to make your OWN RESERVATION for the Renaissance Hotel in Portsmouth at 757-673-3000. Ask for the Richmond Power Boat Association rate. Otherwise, they will tell you they are full.

There are 87 and 93 octane gasolines available in Portsmouth. I advise a few of us add a little fuel on Saturday afternoon after the run or Sunday morning before heading back to the trailers! :party-smiley-004:

Most folks arrive in Richmond on Friday afternoon, and many spend the night on their boats at Jordan Point Marina. http://www.jordanpoint.com/ There is an informal party on the docks at Jordan Point on Friday night. If you want to put your boat in the water on Friday, and spend the night on it, you will need to make your own independent slip reservation for Friday night. I do advise at least putting your boat in the water on Friday night, as Saturday morning the ramp is very busy, and a low tide will make it difficult for bigger/step boats to launch. BTW, the ramp sucks at Jordan Point.

If you require a hotel for Friday night, and/or Sunday night; I recommend Hotels.com or any like site, and finding a hotel in Hopewell, VA. Anything right off of I-95 in Hopewell like the Comfort Inn, Hampton Inn, and/or Quality Inn will have you within 15 minutes of Jordan Point where the Poker Run starts on Saturday morning. There is truck and trailer parking at Jordan Point, but it gets crowded starting on Friday afternoon through Saturday morning.

There are two Captain's meetings, one on Friday night, and one on Saturday morning. You must attend one of them.

Many of the AT folks will be hanging around casa-ActiveShack for the weekend as well, which is about 40 minutes from Jordan Point by water, and 30 minutes by land. You will need to touch base with Mark/ActiveShack to arrange any logistics.

Any further questions can be directed to myself and/or James-"excursion" here on OSO.

You would know better than I. I was just generally referring to the fact that one can obtain 93 nears the end of the run; which is mandatory for a few boats.

Let's make it a point that all of the folks who would require getting some 93 before they head back to the trailers make a plan to do so on Friday night or Saturday lunch.

???
You mean Sat after lunch/before the final stop, or sunday AM. Remind me and I'll try to have the info available for anyone needing to hit the 93 pumps for the return trip.....
It's about 90 miles each way, I understand some AT's can only run 179 miles on a tank of fuel  :D

I don't have done this trip in the AT dozens of times and have NEVER run out of fuel. Even make it back with about 30 gals left over. But everyone needs top make that decision for themselves.

I meant that everyone that needs 93 meet up and make their plan on Friday night and/or Saturday lunch, and execute that plan either Saturday afternoon/evening, or Sunday morning.

E stands for "Ehhhhhh, we got plenty."
