25 tantrum upper shift cable
 

anyone know how long the upper shift cable is on a 97 25ft tantrum or should i just pull it out and measure?

Me neither, but I think I just threw my old one out a few weeks ago so I won't be any help.

hey camp was it a hard job to get that cable out?what did you use for a replacement?need to get this up and running for the weekend.

It was real easy, I paid the marina to do it.:D They did it when I had the lower rebuilt. Pretty sure they used a merc part #865437a02 according to my receipt. Was extremely hard to shift into reverse most of the time before it was changed.

just so you 25at owners know its a 18ft cable but i think 16 will work fine.camp my shifter was very hard to move fwd and rev.has new drive and lower cable,sure hope it was the upper cable.i'll check that part #.camp just so you know we have a poker run coming up on june 28th.i think we have 3-4 at's signed up.you should come down.

I'm brinign my 28 up. I know there is you and one other 25 on the lake with a big motor. Hopefully we get a few more AT's coming up for the run.

I am in a wedding in upstate NY so I can't make it. However, my Dad may be running my boat. I will ask him what his plan is tomorrow.

My bad, that was the lower shorter cable they changed. What lake is the run? That date is sounding familar though may have a grad party to attend that weekend. If it still a hard shift maybe sweet new billet shifter may solve it.:D
