How fast??? Imagine a 2009 28 Active Thunder with twin 550 hp 450 ci Raylars hooked to Bravo XR's w/ Sportmaster lowers....that thing would FLY....I'm thinking 98-102; if you could keep it level & hooked up.

BTW, The SB550 weighs 543 lbs.; what's a 350mag/MPI weigh?? 600-650lbs.??

single 700nxt 28 Id like to see.......so what happened with the arneson 28?

I bet a 33 with the twin raylars would do 100

what about a 33 with twin 550's form raylar? that would be a cool machine

Stormrider 07-16-2008 01:26 PM

But the 33 can carry the bbc easily.
Hows a 33 525 boat run, that would give you an idea.

I've priced out a 28 w/ twin custom fwc 350ci 475hp w/ b1s.
I'm guessing 90-95 could be achieved.
The price of those twin engines fully dress is the same as one 650hp BBC.
I like the fact that b1s would hold up no problem.

well.......the 33 525 will do low 90's right? Those are heavy motors compared to the raylars. All that weight would make for something. I still like the idea of a 700nxt 28....got to be the perfect single engine boat there.

There are plenty of 28 panteras w/ 700+ singles running around. Although they may not be as fast as an AT, it would be fairly similar.
You could probably do the konrad package cheaper than a merc NXT package.

I still like the idea of twins... all that BIG hp is asking for more trouble.

only issue there is the cost of the 700 nxt.. You could can get a 33 with 496's for the cost of a 28 700... just my 2 cents.

10x28 boat slip......:( You could let it stick way out I guess.

I think the konrad/r-tech 800 package is about 80-90 grand.....isnt that about the same as a merc 700nxt?

Not a chance.

The horses are there, but not the torque.
