Trust me it wasn't put in TOO tight. Mercury told him it wasn't the 1st time that has happened on these drives. He really praises the SmartCraft warning system for helping stop more serious damage. Send it to TnT and have them both gone through. You gotta luv those Extended Warranties. Which plug? |
The way i understand ..the one in the side of the lower case..couldn,t replace plug cause of no threads in case.

I guess it's Clarkstar to the rescue, but leave the maintenance up to the professionals.

The drain plug in front of the prop backed/popped out. Threads are damaged as such we can't screw another plug back into it. Freak thing, but not rare... Just a BPPR way to lose a drive.

I didn't have any damage to my threads. Just had to pay Merc and arm and a leg for a new plug. |
We're working with Mercury on the warranty claim. Lets leave this issue alone now please.
But please carry on with the thread! |
Dagommit Scott! :D :D. J/K!! We were savoring that secret.
The 25 that came from WI via NY, went on the run via a couple of characters from Queens NYC. Those guys were great, and we all had a blast. They had a drive tick when they got to FL. Ed and the AT crew had them on the water in hours, in time for the Thursday departure. Yes, a 25AT w/ a single 500HP-Carb ran the ENTIRE KW2008 PR, including the outside ALL the way down. Yes, the water wasn't too bad, but these guys were kicken it. We all ran the 2nd pack paced by a new 50 Nortech with 3000HP. (Sick BTW) Stealin' Thunder and a 38TS/TG ran the front of the after lunch leg, and the 25AT was RIGHT there the whole way, until we broke. They also ran KW to Miami yesterday, pretty much on their own. Sick trip with balls that clank!! There was also a RIB/OB on the run too, but it was bigger than the AT. |

QUOTE] Sorry.. I like to keep up on my A/T's... :drink: It looks like the new red 37 was there as well correct? |
Correct, the red/silver 37 out of DE/MD now has Whipples. Virtually no prop tuning yet, and the drives and exhaust still need some adjustments. The boat ran flawlessly down to KW and back. Owner is already talking about the next one.
