They do have a try before you buy program and you just pay for shipping if you need a different size, but if you ding them you bought them.

Could someone comment on how the Maximus compares to the speed that the hydromotives are showing? I am currently running the Hydromotive 27 pitch P-5X which I had from my previous boat. However, this is under propped and I am debating which prop is the best overall performer. I have never run a Maximus so I really do no know anything much about them. Any help on the performance of the Maximus would certainly be appreciated.

Thanks,
Boyce

Laszlo's numbers with the 29 Hydros are the best five blade numbers I have seen. 28 Max labbed will run 85-88.

Laz, I am not quite sure you can call those motors stock. I know Rich had them apart a few times!:party-smiley-004:

Laszlo what diameter are the 29 Hydros? What was the temp outside?

The motors are tired trust me, pulling them in 2 weeks for winter upgrade, temp was 78 in 2-3 chop and I ran it like we stole it ! Have to thank Tre for that one. Box stock 29's from hydro not sure about the diam but will check tomorrow. The conditions where perfect for the A/T and had a bunch of cigs on our ass so we had to run it pretty hard, the only work I am aware of is a head repair he had done on one motor at sonny leonard, and the leak downs where not optimum from the start of the season. Either way we where super excited on the numbers and really surprised some bigger power rigs. Showed the A/T really well in the run and had a blast running people down in it. But wait till next years numbers, just having a blast in one hell of a rig.

Hah, stock motors was going to be my next question. Sure about that Laz? I thought you had them gone through early this year??

Definitely report back on diameter. Thanks.

They are stock, we only did full maintainance, tune and repaired all the little gremlins in it, leak downs where not that great, compression was lower as expected for 400 HR 525's, talked to rich several times on the boat and the motors are stock merc 525 parts. I do feel they tend to run there best just before they come apart as things are getting loosened up in there so that could be the case as well, but i believe it was more a matter of perfect conditions and running it very aggressively. But I am sure it had alot to do with the driver. LOL sorry had to throw that one in to keep it light. Will go out to the barn to get the diam this morning.

Was running next to Larry waddles north bound in St Clair against the water.

Trying to get the pics taken from tadson's 63 ray as we buzzed him at full throttle.

Just posted the run on you tube under 2009 leopa fall run as well as on my facebook, couple quick shots of the speedo while running. This boat still amazes me, love the A/T !
