I don't think Jeff is too worried about it. The 600SCi/XR is a warrantied package offering from Mercury Racing; and they have been consulted as part of the setup of this boat.

That's what I thought.

I am sure the bravos are border line, but i am a conservative boater. My previous boat had regular bravos and 630 hp motors. It has alot to do with the way you drive the that dictates how long the drives will last.

A freind of mine said that they make some bigger shafts for the XR also. Something to check into after warranty period.

I had built, to date, the fastest stock 600 merc 39' cigarette (101 MPH), having another 3-4 mph left, as per throttle-up. we quit at 101 b/c we were going to start losing accelleration..... and my 600 boat out accellerated a 700 39' cigarette (up to 95-96 MPH) --- their factory boat!!!!

***NEVER HAD A DRIVE ISSUE OR FAILURE, but always stayed ahead of maintance etc... changing fluids every 20 hrs.

so, i'd call :bsflag:

all the best,

joe

ps: congrats again jeff ---- nice colors!!!!

The differnce is .. that I know you know how to drive.. properly.:grinser010: and work on your equipment too.

for the mass the bravo will work if used responsible. The boat is light enough. You will get a few seasons out of her. There are drives out there.. but I wont get into that.
