That's Spilman's boat unless he sold it and the new owner is selling already. Price seems LOW.

outriggers 04-19-2010 12:06 PM

I wonder what the story is? I didn't think Spilman was from Benton AR. I don't need two 28's, seems way cheap hummm? Doug

camptappakeg69 04-19-2010 04:58 PM

Damn! Thats looks like a smokin price for that boat....

cosmic12 04-19-2010 05:28 PM

Thats 15k/30% less than what he wanted for it last fall when he had it up for sale. His profile says he was on OSO 4 days ago. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/members/spilman.html

Sydwayz 04-19-2010 10:30 PM

I think it's apparent that the boat is being liquidated by a marina.

I think we all know what that means.

Let's not go any further into this out of respect for friends on the board.

It's a great boat. It's got some cool things added to it by the original owner who was a master fabricator; which no other AT has. It's also one of a very, very few twin engine 28ATs.

R 'Addiction and I have both worked on the boat with the former owner when he was in a pinch with bad impellers. I'd own the boat.

If it is what I think it is I wish him well and good luck, I am still digging out myself and wouldn't want this for anyone.
Quite possibly the worst feeling in the world for guys like us that just doesn't go away.:(

ICDEDPPL 04-20-2010 08:43 AM

Find a 2004 up and you will like it better with a single 525.

I know this would be a strech but you never know. If you come across or know anybody selling such a boat could you give me a heads up. I have a budget of $45,000 I could act wright away if one came up. thanks

Griff 04-21-2010 09:22 PM

45k for an 04 or newer 28 with a 525EFI is not going to happen.

Pat, How many 2004 and up 28's do you have out there with 525EFI's in them? I only know of 3 from OSO. $45K X 2 wouldn't buy mine. Doug

What happened in 2004? just curious?

Sydwayz 04-22-2010 07:40 AM

2004 and up were popped from the wave crushing 32AT mold.
2003 and earlier were popped from a slightly different mold.

2003 and earlier were not bad, but the 2004 and later are a bit better.

Another 31/32 foot mold that was later sold to another company which started another boat brand.

I would actualy like to find one of those single outboards you show running in the active video, that would be a great little lake boat.

That would be the 22 Active Thunder with the DDC hull.

I've been after Pat to build me one for years.

I actually saw this boat on the west side of Little Rock AR a couple of weeks ago. I thought is was a 32. It is for sale at a boat lot. Let me know if you want me to look at it for you.

REMEDY 04-23-2010 05:20 PM

I would bet there is a market for a 22 ddc boat like that!!

Very unique and with the Active name!!

Some things come full circle.

risky 04-27-2010 06:09 AM

Sorry to see this

I hope all is well.

Looks like Brian and I have to work on Pat to build us some 22's this winter, would be a great addition to my 12' thunder cat we are doing.

Question is, where is the tooling for it?

I want the one Harry built with the Pulse Drive, that is one cool little ride.

My Addiction 04-27-2010 08:13 PM

looks like it didn't sell.
thats crazy:eek:
highest offer of 28k was declined

nadledvinka 04-28-2010 07:04 AM

I'm kinda glad it's so far away from me. If it was close, i'd go look at it........... and surely end up buying it. I CAN NOT believe it did not sell. Looks like one hell of a deal.
