Has there ever been any Actives with staggered motors?
 

Just wondering, if so does anyone have pics of the engine room?

99% sure no. There has been a bunch of talk about extending the 37 to 39 and adding a stagger.

1 - 37 was built with staggered 600SCs several years ago. The boat didn't perform any different or better than a side/side.

Would we do it again with current/newer technology? Yes, we would build one if someone wants it.

Do a search for more info. This has been discussed before in this forum.

That seems a little surprising but for me I like the ease of maintenance more then the performance.

Side by sides are just a PITA to work on, and I do ll my own work.

Was that a semi-stagger? If they did a full stagger, you could get the drives closer together to get better speed, right?

It was a full stagger. There was also a triple 37 built as well, but that one was a straight-bottom.

Remember the design of the hull. It's specifically tuned so the edge of the step, the bottom of the transom, and the propshaft are all on the same plane. When you go to a staggered setup and try to drop the engines, move the COG, and change X-dimension, you are completely averting the architect's performance and ride design of the hull.

Just put some stock 525 EFIs in there and you won't have to work on them! :evilb:

The 2nd 37' AVH hull is the only staggered AT ever built and went to Texas. It was rigged with twin 600's and was a pre-innerlined boat. It did have a great David Hunter paint job with rocks or asteroids on the sides!!

Now you know better then that, it is a BOAT!
