Hey Jim!

I just sent Clark and Brian out tonight in Stealin' Thunder and Jeff with the latest 37 , Ridin' Dirty, flys in tonight and is headed up in the morning.

I am moving number one son into his apartment at FSU so that happens to disrupt my boating this month.....

I will catch you next year for a cold beer.

Keep an eye on my boys!

Pat

Well, what a day (for Clark).
I flew out of Destin this morning to attend to business.

Clark towed back to South Florida. He made it a few hundred miles before he had trailer problems; bearings and a couple bad tires, etc. etc. He's pulling into Boca now. He had a LOOOOOONNNNGGG day.

The lifeguard thing is/was tongue-in-cheek.
We were on Crab Island on Friday and noticed we had a fair amount of hot salt water in the bilge. Not good. I spent a while in the hot bilge figuring out that we broke a couple hose clamps on one of the Y-pipes; and was replacing them. When I climbed out of the bilge, I was tired, hot, and sweaty, so I just jumped in the water. I had previously asked Clark to pick up the anchor and set us in some deeper water so we could drop the drives and test fire the engine. I leaped over the side of the boat expecting to be in 5-6' of water, and was going to walk up and grab the anchor. I should have noticed we were now in 40' of water!! I wasn't in any trouble, but Clarkstar did toss a bro' a vest just to be sure!

Saturday during the run, we decided to take a channel marker with us. One of the stops was nice enough to lay out some improvised channel markers made out of painted PVC pipes. Well, the "channel" was only about 6' deep, and they had about 30' of anchor line on each marker. We snagged the line with the drives (not props) while idling out. No damage, but quite comical! SOB's were anchored solid too as they held the whole boat still in a stiff wind and current while I was wrestling it out from under the boat.

Saturday afternoon was a 5 mile rough ride from Crab Island back to our marina after the PR. We got caught in a torrential downpour. It's probably a good thing that I didn't have a piece with me either, as I would have shot at the fish boat that cut us off 3 times in the channel--in the storm.

I talked to Clark for awhile last night as he was driving back. He told me about the trailer issues and of course we talked props.:D

Emerald Coasat Poker Run is the best event in the country. It is also the most interesting when you roll in with my crew! Back in the saddle today.

chuckbeecher 08-17-2010 10:42 PM

I thought there was EXPERT trailer maintenance being done at Stealin's Fla. home.
karma..just somekind of karma
Oh Brian....that 40' hole must have been the same one that Clark started his Cuban vacation from when he was just 16.
