It's a pretty impressive way that you run that company of yours Pat. Rare indeed.
I might be looking at a job down in Pompano this year, early next year, I'll have to make sure to see your operation. |
Just drink the cool aid and you won't be disappointed:drink:

For what its worth in my opinion, the small custom builders like A/T and others that sell direct for the most part are the only ones that have a chance. The larger companies lack the ability to run with a small overhead.

Definitely need to take one of the test rides with Pat! He'll do his best to make sure that you won't meet any sharks that day :) (Am I remembering that quote right Pat!) Guess I was one of those nervous housewives that didn't want to get tossed riding in some other boat! AT was the best! Gotta get the old man back into a boat. He's driving me crazy!

I remember our sea trial. It was June 12th,1999. Pat, Steve Miller (RIP) my wife and I put in at the ramp and headed out of the intercoastal. Once out of the inlet we met up with confused windblown seas, whitecaps and 2-3's with an occasional 4'. This all in a 25 Tantrum! Need less to say my hair was standing on end as we got on plane and ripped it across the tops of the waves for about 10 minutes. What a blast!
Did I forget to mention that this was done with the steering rack in backwards (turn left, boat goes right, and vice versa) Pat is a master at the controls and we would love to go out for another spin with him when we get back to Fla.:cool-smiley-011: |
I can tell you I had a 25 foot AT with a HP 500 that I got from Pat in 1999. This boat was built like a tank. The wiring was done by an artist. Pat was always there to help. If you want a great running, great built boat you won't get any better than AT. I might not be the fastest but few boats will keep up when things get rough. I don't know many 25 foot boats that can run 70 plus in 3-4 foot white caps. I only sold mine when I broke my neck and had to slow down.
Pat, Hello! Long time.. Alan in Maryland |
too funny

Fixx
they originally started in river grove of Franklin park il,, their shop was located somewhere off of river road but it was so long ago i dont remember the location..i remember talking to a guy named Ziggy from what i understand started the company..i never owned one but i know a few guys that still have one's built here in il,my friend john has a 31' with 365's and another guy has one with 540's with 871's that will bust 110 mph..they were built vary good then and from what i have seen they only got better..
|
I think it was Palatine Illinois. I had stopped in one day and talked to "Ziggy". What a joke. I think it was located in an old Ford dealership. No comparison to the boats of today. Although I have never owned an AT I have been in a few and they compare with the best of them.

A few facts concerning Pat & Active Thunder;
1; They build an incredible boat 2; They stand behind their boats. 3; They are a custom built boat, built to customer specs, ( some want a flat screen, wine rack & air conditioning while others just want light weight scream across the ocean W.F.O.), ;) |
I might be wrong but I think Griff's boat was the 1st 32 Pat built after moving to Florida. I was the original owner.
|
I'd love to be the next owner!!! Nice boat!

His son, "crb76" aka Clark Beecher has a 2007 37AT. How is that for family and brand loyalty? |
