I wanted to change this post some. Can someone give me some real info on how much of a difference there would be in 2-3ft seas and overall ride between a 25 Baja Outlaw with a 496mag ho-runs 67mph, and a 28 AT with a 525EFI? (other than a few mph). My boat is a 2002 and paid off, 5k in stereo, custom torsion trailer, IMCO ext steering, just beautiful. Would it be worth going from 25 ft that is paid off to 28ft and 60k plus in debt and having to spend another 6-8k in a 525 refresh, which has no real stereo and a leaf spring trailer? I only have an F150 and not wanting to pull more than either of these two boats weigh and not looking for twins any longer at this point in my boating career and the economy.

Lastly, is it realistic to think individuals would pay average retail for a boat according to NADA "and" then start trying to list options? Dealers I would think in this economy would sell options but talking to two boat brokers, I know they told me less than avg retail is the current trend.

The 28 will be a wave crusher compared to the Baja.

Unfortunately the "extras" you have will not add any value to your boat it will just make it more attractive to potential buyers. The banks don't really care about dollar amount of a stereo and will set the amount they will loan for the boat.

If it were me and the boat was paid for I would stick with that. If you want to go a little faster than upgrade to a different engine that will allow that. I have no real world experience with the 28 AT but would think at 3 foot longer it will handle the bigger stuff better.......is it worth $60K?? Only you can answer that.

2 foot sea should be fun in your Baja. 3 foot your taking a bangin'. I know you dont want twins, but if your lookin for a great riding boat small enough to trailer, look at the Cigarette Bullet. Great rough water boat for its size with a huge cabin. That hull laughs at 3 footers!

no comparison in the rough stuff the 28 is a big 28' boat with more freeboard than any in its size and will crush the wake, it is also much bigger than a 25 baja and with 525efi should run low to mid 70s on a gps. My buddy has one and it is a sweet boat.

The difference between a 25' Baja and a 28' AT is definitely grand.

However, I agree with Will. Don't upgrade for 3 feet. Keep the boat for one more season and jump into a 32/33AT the following year.
