There was a thread in GD about a few days ago. It was in the OSO classifieds a while back and I think the boat was discussed in the AT Forum back then.

Why does it seem like that 32' has the same cockpit room as my 25'
THat bench looks so close to the bolsters.

A 32 has a little more cockpit room than a 25, only a few inches though. The padded cupholders mounted to the bolster also make it look smaller.
Here's a pic of mine.

Considering the size difference between a 25' and a 32' boat how come the cockpit size isn`t more proportional.
There should be 4 bolsters and a bench in there dammit!:angry-smiley-038:
only the useless cuddy gets bigger. Seems like a waste

The 33 has quite a bit more space between the bench and bolsters, actually the same size cockpit as the 37. Not sure how the engine compartment compares in room. Life is always about compromises, do you want beautiful or smart, it's usually a trade-off? You don't really think these boats are about practical do you? :drink: Steve

There should be this much room in anything over 30':evilb:

With outboards and without a sun deck, there is!...

That said, I LOVE the cockpit room of the 32' and 33' Bajas. Their cockpit layout is 2nd to none. I don't know why more manufacturers don't go to a bigger cockpit.

The further forward the crappier ride. Ever been on a see-saw?

The new 33 has a huge cockpit however we have maintained the long deck and "Corvette" look that ATs have been known for.

I never built the the 32 or 28 for a boat full of people. More than 2 or 4 and I can't see that they are safe and secure in the rough.

I like the engine compartment room is the 32. Put any engine combo you want and still walk to the front of the engines. I would take that any day. Too many boats out there that you can't even get a belt on much less a blower belt or hub!

Yes the engine compartment is awsome in the 32

Griff 12-30-2010 01:56 AM

I wish I had that much room in front of the engines in my 32. My engines are moved forward about a foot using a driveshaft.

Can't remember who's bright idea that was when we built it but it was supposed to move the CG forward for all the HP.

The boat did run though!

Griff 12-30-2010 11:10 AM

It still runs great and flies level.......just not nearly as fast though.
