Ridin Dirty

Well guys i hit 182 hrs last weekend. The boat is just over a year old. Pulled the boat out of the water and just by habit i always spin the props to see if the drives are ok. Both of them didnt feel right. Took the boat to my drive guy and i had shavings in both of them. One was worse than the other. So, 6000.00 later i will be back on the water this weekend...LOl

Wow only 182 hrs in a year? I need to get busy as I've only put about 130 hrs on mine in 3 1/2 years.

ActiveThunder 05-17-2011 06:24 PM

Jeff doesn't have the white, cold stuff on the ground 2/3 of the year!

Nor a cow named Bessie.....

TexomaPowerboater 05-18-2011 01:10 PM

Curious, what is your driving style? Do you boat in a lot of rough water?

Still no problems with those billet XR's? How many hours do you have on them?

Great drives to date. I ran them all last summer and finished off the season at the key west run. I snapped a vertical shaft in half (completely my fault) and sent them in over the winter and no issues what so ever. So far so good and I run it hard in the poker runs for sure. Curtis builds a very solid drive.

Gordo 06-06-2011 09:35 AM

Yep! What he said!

OCDACTIVE 06-08-2011 07:46 AM

you got that right!! of course living in FL I would have to upgrade to a bigger boat and hold onto OCD for my son.

Gordo 06-08-2011 08:29 AM

Bigger boat?
You own a 28 Active Thunder!
How much more boat do you need! :lolhit:

From what I understand the 28 will do great in FL but having twins for safety sake is a must... I know the 28 hull can basically handle anything thrown at it but also would like a bigger cabin for overnight, bathroom etc... 37 should work. :drink:

Good point. After waking up one day married with Daughters, I find myself in the same boat. ba-dump ping
However, there's no way I can afford to make that leap.
Fortunately, my girls love to go fast, and are new to boating so they don't miss the non-existent bathroom

My Addiction 06-08-2011 03:35 PM

yep, cant miss what you never had, but could still be missing out.:lolhit:

Don't tell them. What they don't know won't hurt them.
