Well, unfortunately youth has its spirited advantages, and Dad's is a wee younger than mine and his HP500 helps a bit too. Might have to address that during the off season, lol. Anyone got a nice 525 sitting idle waiting for a new home :) . Just teasing FOR NOW !

I maybe uping the ante a little within the next year. Whats in yours 502MAG/MPI? The boat looks great, very clean!

My old 25 ran 74 on gps and still is today with stock 500hp.

Wonder what t will run with a slightly warmer 500EFI? We may soon find out!

That's pretty impressive. I'm liking these 25's more and more although I've yet to see one in person.

Probably a couple miles faster down where your at compared to our flat river up here. My old one i bought from thunderdan and he said it went 76 down in LBI nj where he kept it.

That was fun, running with my son and spending the day at the Casino. Mine is the 98 with HP500, 26p by BBlades and runs 70+ but hard to find out exactly due to water conditions on Lake Erie. 25ft. in 2-3 ft waves at 70+ gets pretty wild and there is always the worry about rogue large boat wakes. Boat runs fastest with K Planes full up and drive about 3.5, is this where everyone finds theirs running fastest? With planes parallel with the bottom scrubs 5-7 mph but ride is better in rough water.

That must have been a blast runnin' with the son! I'd like to get together with a few Tantrums and run to a few places around the bay.


I have a question that I can't get a straight answer too.

What is the HP500EFI horsepower measured at? 470HP at Crankshaft or propshaft?

470 at propshaft

Not sure I am correct but I was told that blue motors are measured at the prop shaft and black motors are measured at the flywheel.

So what do you think it was at the crankshaft Rick?

Thats what I was running into. I have access to a 532 HP 502CI. Hoping this will make my Tantrum throw a fit!:D

532 would make yours run upper 70s for sure:drink:

I don't want a Bravo killer, just a better cruise speed (and there is a certain Sunny out there with a 500EFI that I love to phuck with)

With the weight of your boat you will have no problems with a bravo, as for the sunny :evilb::drink:

True Dat Rick! The sunny can't run from me even now! Its a 28 with a 500EFI.

One of my buddys has a 25 sunny it looks little next to my old 25 thunder, and it chine walks sitting at the dock:evilb:

We both came outta East Harbor but it was Saturday we left bout 10 ish. Dad coulda easily been out again Sunday too.

I am the Dad and boat is at Marina Del Isle rack stored. The Sons boat is in Mansfield Ohio and is trailered around the area.
