Dry weight?
 

Anyone have any idea of the dry weight of a 25' tantrum with a 454? I am looking to buy a boat lift and trying to figure out how much I need.

Don't worry about the weight of this boat........buy based on the weight of the NEXT boat!!! (we wanted a 10K at the river 2 years ago and found it really wasn't that much more money to just install a 16K just in case)........8 months later I sell a 38 Formula and buy a 21ft CC. :)

well the boat has always been rack stored or on a trailer never left in the water for more than a weekend at a time so id like to keep that going and would like to buy a vertical lift so I need the dry weight I fig its under 4k but with 65 gal. of fuel thats another 1k and the other bs I figure I need something over 4500 capacity

Get an R and G 5,000 vertical lift with direct drive. They are made right in Buffalo!

We purchased one for our 25' checkmate and it has been flawless for 5 years. you can assembly the whole thing with 2 guys in under 2 hours.

For a 5,000lbs rating it is super heavy duty. My dad has the 4,000lbs model for his Grady White and the 5k is much, much stronger/bigger. They make a deep water version too that gets the boat much higher out of the water.

I bought mine from Seager Marine in Canandaigua, NY, (about 1.5 hrs from buffalo) they have been selling R and G for over 15yrs now.

I think there was a thread on here about an R and G dealer in Buffalo that was a little shady so watch out for them.

I lift mine with a 4600# hewitt vertical, borderline capacity for sure. I did some extra bracing at the top...but it needed a catwalk anyway. Installed a 110v direct drive winch after lifting it with the manual wheel once.

I would get at least a 6k lift.

almost empty fuel tank- weight should be around 4800-ish

Air dock?

Does enyone have any thoughts on air dock type of boat lift? I figure it might be easier not having to deal with water level changes and getting stuck on the lift lol.

Any thoughts good or bad are welcome

Here is the brochures that came with my tantrum, probably depends on motor, and cabin options, and possibly year built.

Now I'm curious, in the spring I'll put it on the scales at the transfer station.....good thing I upgraded to 5/16" stainless cables & new sheeves for the hoist when I got it.
