I'm not sure you're going to get the true answer publicly, although the PC story that everyone seems to agree on and is plublic knowledge is that it rolled and went for a salt bath.

I hope someone fixes it, it's a sharp looking boat.

What all are you doing to your 37? LV kept that thing clean as a whistle and went through everything after he purchased it. Were there some hidden items or are you talking about the expense of adding the big big power and 6's?

No hidden items, just updating the things LV didn't get to and adding bling/color to cockpit. The cabin is the big project as you can see from the picture. The problem is that once you update one thing, it makes something else look dated. No 6's, I will be putting SCX's on with my power. As things start coming together, I'll put some pics up in the OL forum.

Even if you put a 100k into this project, still much cheaper than new. And could do the build the way YOU want it, 100% fresh everything in the end. Or buy a new one @ 300k ++++

Just my 2cts. worth

SO is this boat worth the going price or not? Some ppl say yes, some ppl no...

Its hard to tell the fiberglass work needed from pics. Anybody have any other ones?

It's a 06 37 Active Thunder Excess. NADA Low value with 525's is 145k without a trailer. If you pick the thing up for 15k and document the repairs how could you go wrong? Even better - buy it for 15 and sell me the swim platform for a grand. Then you are only in it for 14, take your time and do it right.

Just my .02 - could be a damn nice piece.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that it could be a good deal, but I think you would need to do a lot of the work yourself to come out on it. And like you said, it would absolutely have to be documented for resale.

As long as you realize that your going to have 100k into it when your done, sure.

NADA of 145k has nothing to do with market value.

The last 37 that sold was a 2008 with 525's and only needed some very minor cosmetic work. It had under 100hrs and sold for under 120k with trailer

Stealin Thunder is a 2007 and in pristine condition and is listed at $134,500 with trailer.

That 2008 needed more than minor work. Probably $20-25K worth, and that's before you dug into the generator to find out why it wouldn't start. That boat was fire saled by the original owner who bought it cash. And, that trailer was, uh, rough. One boat does not set a market.

Stealin' Thunder is a great deal, turnkey.
