Default -2 shorty?

Its about time for a drive, and being i have nothing. Wondering if a -2 on the transom will work or has anyone tried one on the tantrum. I dont care much about drive ability, getting on plane, or acceleration. just top speed, 740hp 700lbs torque. don't want to buy an standard xr, just to trade it for an imco. and i know its all trial/error but short cuts are nice

I'd buy a new hull. I don't think that boat is made for speeds over 80mph.

Where is the prop shaft to the bottom of the boat and is the transom notched?

Tantrum is a conventional 24 degree hull no notch, all I have is the crank center line, (x dimension) being I have no drive. It's pretty deep, boats short, and light. So thinking -2 probably the best?
