Tantrum on I-95
http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/u...100Tantrum.jpg
I came across this beast on my way home from work Friday. I saw it and thought, thats a good looking boat, then on a second look I realized it was an AT Chime in FatEarl, FatHerb, I couldn't hear exacltly what your name was on here. He was heading to JOTJ and said it was fast !!! I want to see a pic of that motor !!! Thats a BMAX on the back. Hope you had a Blast. |
He was at JOTJ. Boat sounded wicked.......thought I heard someone say 110???? :eekdrop:
I know fatherb68 was building a tantrum with 1000 hp and a BMAX w a shortie. Cant see ny plates. Im still waiting to know his mph, to see if its worth me putting on a blower.
Yeah, Maybe thats what he said his name was. the discription is right on. He said he was from NY and it was 950HP, breaking 100mph.
It was stout! motor had a serious blower lope to it. sounded nice.

Thanks guys, Had a great time this weekend at jotj. Made alot of new friends and will definatly be there next year. What are the chances of running into another tantrum owner driving down I95. It is a blower motor with a chiller, it's only a 468 with aluminum darts. It has a solid roller set up with jessel rockers. It made 930hp at 6000rpm and 804 tourq at 4000 rpm. The B Max drive is holding up great, with a imco -2 lower. The bottom was blue printed by raybo marine out on Long Island. So far I have seen 103mph at only 5400rpm with 2 people and 3/4 of a tank. So far I am happy with the boat, Pat and Gordo have been a big help in helping me set her up. I'll try to figure out how to post some more pics of the boat. I'm not the best on a computer. Thanks again

triple digits! way to go
thats what I was looking for before I went on the run. I did'nt want to push any harder, no broken parts before jotj
How does it handle? Prop? Doug
Nice rig.
Anymore info on the motor? Cam, rot assy, blower, carbs, injected, exh, etc......? How's it holding up |
The prop is a bravo 4 blade 28, Its not stock but I do not know whats done to it. I just got a couple of stock ones from b blades to start testing. The drive is a 1.27, or something ratio(b max drive). The engine is a GM 454 block bored out to 468.Heads are dart 360s with some extensive work done to them. Cam is a custom grind by ultradine. 8-71 bds blower with a chiller. Carbs are custom also from quick fuel. CMI dry exhaust. Nothing to crazy just a good combination of really good parts. It was assembled and dyno'd by Pat Musi Performance. It has been holding up great, broke a vertical shaft in the drive in less than 2 hrs. just before jotj run. I think I had a bad shaft , new one seems to be holding up. After the blue printing the boat handled great. After all it is a Active Thunder!
