That's actually not bad pricing... If your heads need a bunch of welding and machining to make them work... I suspect they will. I know its a big chunk to swallow, but that's the cost of having these toys. Beware of lowball quotes for your stuff... Usually its low and when they get into it, it goes way up. Most of the time when its done, you could have had the new heads.

+1, do it right the first time. you'll end up spending the same amount in the long run anyway. + you'll make more power

Before they came out w that head you had no choice but to fix them because the merc head is very expensive.
I thought the 525 used edelbrock marine heads. They are not that expensive...no need to buy anything from Merc

They are made for merc by edelbrock out of old beer cans. The 525 has a special exhaust flange bolt pattern, therefore the casting is different. An off the shelf edelbrock head will not work.

Is your boat at ck now? Sucks that your having problems with a newer boat. Keith is always busy and has some serious hardware coming out of there.

Nice meeting some of you A/T owners up there at the BT event....nice showing with all the A/T's I saw and finally met some of my long time A/T brothers up there for the first time. I saw the 33' A/T sitting at the dock as they tried getting it to work, etc,....sorry you guys missed the run....what a heartbreaker----really nice looking boat though!
