I use sy goldberg 8567678134 and he has been great to work with. I hear very good things about stacy from wakezone also. Give them a call but I would expect the bill to be in the 1500-2000 range.

REMEDY 09-12-2012 03:06 PM

Elton porter. Prob 1500-2000 will be the going rate anywhere.

BS. You need your agent to fight underwriting for you. SF insures a few 37s.

State Farm has a 75mph limit but they do insure hi-perf boats (like your 31). I had my 382 with them with an agreed value of $160K for about $1,100/yr. I did have to show them the boats supposed 72 mph max speed. (built motors looked stock but weren't).

really brian? i have a great agent and will have to chat with him next wk about this "underwriting" you speak of , thanks again.

I had my Fountain with them and when I built the AT they wouldn't touch it because it exceeded there HP per Ft. Limit.

I'm paying $2450 a year but I have the hull valued at 235k and the trailer at 15k. If I lowered the hull value I'm sure mine would be below 2k.

bonesmalon 09-12-2012 09:00 PM

Sy Goldberg, $120k hull value, $1500/yr

I got a quote from Stacey at Wakezone for the same amount and roughly the same value a few weeks ago.

I have mine with Stacy at Wakezone with a $165,000 value for $1800, with a lay up from October to April. She is great to work with. There is also a great gal in Norfolk, VA., but I can't think of her name right now. Will post later if/when I find it. Brian may know who I am talking about. She is active with the Powerboating for a Cure Run.

Wakezone @ $2,700 a year with $190,000 Hull Value and $15,000 Trailer with a true HP and speed report.

Was around $1,800 with the stock 525's and original purchase value. Had to submit the invoices for the final value and replacement cost as well as HP. Not worth it if something happens.

Another good resource is Bob Luellen at Worldwide Marine. Before I sold mine last year he had me with American Modern at around $1800 with $150K agreed value, no layup and no named insured which is nice if you have a buddy, brother, etc. who might occassionally take the wheel.

Good luck with State Farm. My agent was adamant they would not insure the AT. And I have all my policies with him including umbrella. He is writing my current boat policy at $250/yr. :)

Just got quotes from three different companies yesterday. All were very prompt and seemed eager to earn my business...now I have to make the decision!

Worldwide Marine: $1670/yr
Wakezone: $1680/yr
Elton Porter: $1888/yr

Stacy at Wakezone said I could get an additional 10% with the Coast Guard Auxilery certificate I have.
Anyone have any claims experience with these companies? My decision would be swayed in a big way if one provided better customer service...

I have heard that's a good run. That would be about half way between each of us. We might just have to tear that place up!!!
