Brian-
Thanks so much for all the help putting up with emails and phone calls over the past couple years...you are an amazing resource! It was our pleasure having you out on the Big Pond with us yesterday...hope you had a good time. You are a great rope/anchor monkey...hope we can hook up again while you are in town! mike and michelle ps- Could you send me that one pic you put up on FB from the river with the bridge reflecting off the deck? That looked AWESOME. |

Yesterday could not have been more perfect.
Here is a picture of Mike doing some paperwork with the DHS/USCG. Dennis aka Obnoxus is on the phone arranging a bail bondsman. At least it was service with a smile from the Coasties. |
That's not as bad as it looks...btw...

And it was generally a GREAT day on the water....with the notable exception of our encounter with the King of all douchebag Chicago boaters. We were anchored just off the city and rafted with a 36 Baja in an area we refer to as "The Playpen"...during a normal weekend, there are ususally a couple hundred boats in there. Its protected by breakwalls, but its a large area, so some larger wakes make it a bit rough at times, but usually its no big deal. Enter Mr. Douchbag. 50 or so foot cruiser with a bunch of people on board, including kids, comes rolling in pushing a 2 or 3 foot wake. He is going directly through the anchored boats, and we know we are going to get rocked and have to work to keep my red boat off the white Baja. On of our buds whistles loudly and gets DB's attention, and when he looks, we all gesture downward with our arms telling him to slow. Well...instead of slowing, he turns 180 degrees back TOWARDS us (again, cutting though anchored boats), and passes us by about 40 feet away. He then flips US off, and yells "If the wake is too big, maybe you should buy a bigger boat!" Well....after delivering a barrage of obscenity, I was EXTREMELY eager to pull anchor and blast past this guy at 80+, but my wife (and the rather conspicuous nature of my boat) won out in arguments to the contrary. We were all so stunned by this move that none of us even got the name of the boat! I remember what the logo looked like, though...and I WILL find him later this summer. Ideally, we will be anchoring within water balloon launcher range...and we will be making it rain on that *****....

Paintball gun.
It is illegal to launch anything from a moving vehicle. At anchor... game on. |

Does a rooster tail count as an object launched? lol
I have seen a driver/operator ticketed for throwing water over a bridge and contacting a car on said bridge; and dousing a tour boat... ... as well as thrown off said body of water (a lake in one instance). |
