I need some advice
 

I have no idea about these but am buying one.

Is it worth the extra money to go to the latest, greatest knowing I am just doing an hour or so at a time strictly for a cockpit view of the boat running?

i bought the cheapest one this spring , works fine but no remote . there is an app you can use instead .

Comparison shop the Ion too, They are easier to use and have a better picture than the GoPro IMHO.

Go Pro's are great. I use mine on the boat all the time. I have the Hero 2. I'd like to get the 3 at some point...
