The boat was originally branded "Chief" back when Pat and Bobby Saccenti had the "marketing marriage". This was when Chief was trying to get off the ground in the 2006 time frame; and the 28/33/37 were going to round out the Chief offerings for a full boat line. That never happened, and Pat re-branded it Active Thunder when that all fell apart. Everything yellow on the boat was originally white; but I believe the guy who owns it now is into Caterpillar heavy equipment; hence the name and color.

Bobby and Pat collaborated to build the boat a little lighter, which basically meant no-cabin liner. It's a hair bit lighter than some of the other boats, and I believe George said it hit 91mph once; but I can't back that up.

It's a really sharp looking boat in person. No bad stories whatsoever. I believe it's only been under the care of George when he was a factory rep, and this now/current owner.

Search "37 chief" here on OSO for the back story, but all that was just marketing stuff that never came to fruition.

Oh yeah, that build date was during Fred Cecil aka Too Old aka Too Conman at his heyday. Accordingly, I think there were a few "Trick Marine" branded parts on the boat. Such was all stuff made by the usual suspects (suppliers), but Fred had his logo on them.

brian does this boat have the same cabin height as the current 37 active thunders?

boatfreak 02-07-2014 05:44 AM

Yes the cabin height would be the same as a new one.
