I would guess 2 or 3. It's not a huge jump in HP and you are pushing a lot of boat. I feel they are a little more torquey, if that is a word, Definite quicker when you push the throttles down in the midranges.

The acceleration of the 565 over the 525 boat feels like a blower motor; IME.

Sonic Steve: You're going from one of my favorite boats to one of my favorite boats. Would you share your reasoning for making the move from the 400SS to the 37AT? That info may be very helpful in the future.

We have had go fast boat most of the years including 3 Sonics ( hence the name). My father had a Cruisers yacht 4270 in which we had been boating with him for years, I always liked the 400ss and at the time it made a lot of sence to get a slip and spend more time with him while he was still boating, I was certainly was not ready to give up the speed and coming out of a go fast the Formula gave us that option. We had the 400 for about 5 years and really enjoyed it including of our go fast friends, it was a place to hang out when we got back to the dock.
Since then my father has retired and decided to sell his boat. My wife and I then chose to put ours on the market and get back to trailering where we can do the tour and weekend on different lakes. We will definatly miss the 400 and it's amenities but for now we are opening up a different chapter in our lives.

The Active Thunder is one of a few boats that offer a nice size cabin and performance that fit out needs unfortunately there are not many on the market in our price range or in any price for that matter. So we will probably end up in something else that have the amenities to weekend on the boat.

I talked to him couple of months ago, I have no idea if it is still available but I had my concerns.

I'd have no concerns on that boat. The non-liner cabin is different; but not terrible. I have not ridden on that particular boat; but Stealin' Thunder was the best riding 37' AT I've ever been on; and it too was built with no-liner. Stealin' Thunder was built VERY heavy compared with some of the boats. Monsoon, my boat, has a light layup. It's definitely a little looser than Stealin' Thunder.

As far as ammenities go its a hard boat to beat. I guess if I had a money tree my next boat would be a 43 Nor-tech for its additional headroom and the extra 6 for for rough stuff.

I don't even know the boat to have concerns. I'm saying that once you explained why some had the support entering the v berth and the liner boats didn't I wanted the liner boat. My wife likes it because it feels more open. We overnight a dozen or so nights a summer.

Again, I have no issue with that boat and wish the seller well.
