You must have been on Fumes! Recently topped off the tanks, reset smart craft at 164 gallons. Get back from a all day run and smart craft showed we had 78 gallons left. Fuel gauges needle still unmoved from F. I know better than to trust the needle:rolleyes:

I don't run out of fuel. Just gotta go by "feel". Those gauges are WAY over-rated.

Yeah no way in hell on one tank. Looking at adding a bladder tank with transfer pumps to make up the difference. Also need to figure out placement of added weight of extra fuel. Thinking strapped down behind drivers seats on the floor. Waiting to see what the rules end up at for a time restraint for a fuel stop or adding extra tank for best time.

ALI = "Around Long Island" race. 271 miles = NEED MORE GAS.

Did that run in 2011. Only one tank... That's because we didn't make it past Plum Gut. On that run there was an Outerlimits a fuel cell behind each of the two front seats. I believe he won that year.

When you get below 1/2 tank on the gauge needles, you need to know where the next fill up is. About 1/2 way down the height of the tank is where they start to slope in toward the V. I ran out of fuel on the day I bought my boat; on one engine. We kept it on plane 2 miles or so back to the ramp (PB2 @ LOTO IIRC) and stuck her on the trailer with one which was kind of a bear with no docks at the ramp.

FWIW, the fuel gauge on a 43NT is MORE inaccurate than a 37AT. Just ask Jassman and crb76. :D

I confirmed what Brian is saying...the hard way. In the middle of a poker run....not at the end mind you...the middle. My boat goes forever on full but when that needle starts to bounce off full my day is coming to an end. You can literally watch the needles move down anywhere around 1/4 and thats just at high idle.
