Active Thunder at the boat show?
I was only able to see the indoor boats and displays, and a few boats and booths just outside. I was unable to make it to the docks. So, somebody show me what I missed. I guess all of the Thunders were actually in the water?

Yes, I believe that Pat is usually in the water
|
I saw a pic that was posted with the red 37 Excess in the water.

One Red 37 in the water and Pat was there at the dock with it. A very nice boat along with interior that was well done. There was only 4 sport boats total in the water.

According to my burned head I was in water all weekend.
According to the way I felt this morning I cleaned out the Miller Lites in the ship store.... |
Sounds like a good time to have some Active Thunder hats made:D:D

Next year the boss is going with me, and we would like to plan now for a room, preferably close to the docks. Any suggestions for a room within walking distance?
|
We stopped by to visit with Pat at the docks. The red 37' AT Xcess is a gorgeous boat. While some of the V bottom manufacturers have rounded and softened the looks of their models, it nice to see Active Thunder still builds a true "muscle" boat. I even wore one of my 1998/1999 vintage Active Thunder polo shirts in honor of the "Cult"!

The show is moving to Miami Marine Stadium on Virginia Key next year if all goes as planned. The convention center is going to be closed for renovations next year. I personally would stay in Coconut Grove and drive to the show. Great hotels, food, etc. 10-15 drive to the show up S.Bayshore Drive to the causeway. With everything that the city is putting into this renovation. There might even be a water taxi to and from the show which would be cool. |
