Bote Loco

New build coming! Well, Pat cashed the deposit check so I think its offical!

The model is a 33 Express. Regular 33' hull, full cabin, Verado 350's out back and full cockpit from drivers station to transom.

We are coming out of a 32' Renegade, have had plenty of go-fasts prior, blowers, etc. We are in Cape Coral and West Michigan. I will like the full cabin for boating and over nighting along the lake up here. The Renegade was a great boat although the wife had a real problem buying a "fishing" boat originally. I told her I was done standing on my head in the bilge.

I think this style could be the next "thing". At least I believe it will be perfect for us. Pat is excited to build a center console alternative.

Yes the name is Bote Loco!

And we've had family and friends in the cult since 1999, so you have to let us in!

Spectacular! Congrats and welcome to the cool kids' table.

And I need to thank your family friends for vouching for me. They are the best, Crazy, but the best. This will be the perfect boat for the left coast.

BTW made it back without incident. 20 laps, top speed 159. What a rush!

Congrats, Dave! Feel free to leave that Renegade down in Cape Coral so I can use it when I visit. LOL!

Sounds like a cool build!

2 or 3 Verados?

boatfreak 06-07-2015 09:53 PM

Congrats Dave and I can't wait to see it. Bob told me a few days ago that you had ordered it.

Pat did they actually let you drive a car?:fear:

Congrats Dave! Will have to name the Canal behind the house. Can't wait to see it!

I'm going to need more info, Is this a relative of Bob Smallwood? It all sounds very familiar, those damn Renegades are like mosquitoes down there!

Obviously a side entry to get the stand up head! I was wondering the same thing, it could tip the scales one way or the other. Lol

Center entry is standard now for this model. This is to utilize the cabin liner for a more refined look. We will still build the side entry but as a 'cover girl' cabin only as standard.

Also, with outboards, this is how the cockpit is layed out.

Knot 4 Me 06-18-2015 12:43 PM

Will the starboard transom be a walk-thru? Or will there be steps in the cockpit?

ActiveThunder 06-18-2015 06:48 PM

Steps. I like the walk through idea. However I am not keen on the structural loss. The compromise disturbs me.

I have to admit, the door would be pretty trick! Wouldn't the outboard bracket lend some flexibility to the door option if the transom was beefed up? Or do a side door like Intrpid. Are there going to be two deck hatches? I think it's going to be pretty cool with all the cockpit space and seating options!

Wait until you see pictures of the cocoa interior. It makes the boat on the last 37 Pat built.

I don't have a problem with the tan, I tried to build ours with that interior, but Diane wouldn't let me. I guess I was just ahead of my time! Will there be and icemaker and blender in the party pit?

raytart 09-07-2015 07:43 PM

the cocoa does look nice with the red. the mock up does not do it any justice.

I've seen this boat in person and it is stunning!
