So it looks like I have buyers lined up for hydrostream and my checkmate. I have had my eye on this boat, I was planning on looking for a 32 but this seems like a really nice one that I can almost afford. Bonesmalon let me check his out last year at the buffalo run and I was very impressed. Does anyone know about this boat or have seen it in person? It is in the Maryland area.

As I posted on FB a couple weeks back:

I've know this boat since new. It was orginially built for Mark House when he was racing Skaters, with the potential to be raced as an F2 boat. The boat lived in Northern VA. It was built with a light layup but extra bulkheads and extra tabbing to be even more solid.

When Mark was done with it, he sold it to his employee (also named Mark) where it was in VA for a few more years and then went to the Tampa area for a few more years.

Many years ago when Mark was running the boat on the Potomac River for one his first trips in the spring, I saw the boat rolling out and knew I'd own an AT one day.

This boat is a few years older than Bonesmalon's boat. This boat was built before the cabin height/deck was raised, and also it has a different cabin construction. (This boat does not have a cabin liner. The majority of the 37s after 2002 or so do have cabin liners.) It depends on what you are looking for. Non-cabin liner cabins are a bit roomier inside. Liner cabins are a bit smaller, but have a little more refined finish to them.

Has anybody seen the boat recently? Is it in decent shape? Would this boat still have wood in the hull or is it all composite?

Sydwayz 07-02-2015 04:00 PM

No wood. No insight on condition.

abmotorman 07-06-2015 08:33 AM

Best price I've seen on a 37 so far.

jadento 07-06-2015 09:03 AM

I know the owner. The boat is in great shape for a 2000. I know it has been well maintained mechanically with recent top end refresh on the motors. I believe the interior is original and therefore 15 years old. So its not new but the last time I saw it in person(several summers ago) it was in great shape. I would certainty only discourage you from the boat because I want it ; )

Brian is this the 37 that was for sale in 2009 Sarasota FL. at Suncoast Powerboat Brokerage ? And that has a 5 inch step and a lighter lay up ? If so I almost bought that boat back then.

Yes, I believe so.

BUP 07-06-2015 08:33 PM

It had a Delaware registration back then if I recall or some Northeast state registration due to the fact they did not have pay sales tax or something like that for ownership.

I think you told me - the first the guy who originally bought this boat new was thinking about wanting more so a race lay up and the step was increased to 5 inches for the build. The owner did not race the boat after the fact

The first couple years were 5" steps.
The light layup and extra tabbing was for F2 potential.

As "stock" power speeds got faster, the step was shortened a bit over the years.

So would this boat be less stable than a newer 37 if it power was bumped up to like 750ish a side?

Sydwayz 07-06-2015 09:11 PM

Everything is adjustable with props and drive heights. This boat would run like a scalded dog with that kind of power.

TooLateVTEC 07-07-2015 03:19 PM

What would that thing run with those 500EFI's ?

Man I need to ride in a A/T some kinda bad

It should run 80-82mph dialed in right.

Drock78 07-08-2015 07:28 AM

i believe that I read 84 gps with the light layup.

AE Stream 07-09-2015 09:55 AM

Guys this thread is not supposed to get busy, I was hoping that 37 could be my little secret. My first buyers financing fell through so I'm still trying to move my checkmate. Man I want this boat,

wfo1 07-09-2015 12:23 PM

LOL, I have been looking at that boat since it was first listed. I just hate the idea of flying/driving half way across the country to see that it is beat. I have been down that road before. In fact, just looked at a supposedly "extremely clean" 38 lighting tuesday that looked like it has sat outside uncovered for the last 15 years, rotten cuddy floor and all. I guess some peoples idea of clean is differnt than mine.

SunsationLarry 07-13-2015 11:29 PM

Which boat did you buy?

Faster Daddy 07-14-2015 12:51 AM

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...er-o61716.html

This is the boat that this thread was started about and the one I bought and just got home with a few hours ago.

SunsationLarry 07-14-2015 01:19 AM

Nice , what part of TX you from ? I'm in Spring

jadento 07-14-2015 06:12 AM

Faster Daddy...I was anchored out behind Dobin island when you came out of Greys Creek on the Sea trial. Saw you go out and then came back like 15 minutes later. I just knew it was going to be sold. It was a ton of boat for the money and I would have bought it myself if I could have.

Congratulations on a awesome ride!
