Boating Magazine test

Nice test review and video footage, I think you have a winner on your hands!
|
Wow. Great boat
|
Nice review! I can't help but think there's more speed in it. I'm sure you tried various props. Was there any improvement closer to the 6400 rpm redline vs the 6000 with these 24" 5 blades? Considering the 33 went 74.2 with 300 Yamahas, I was sure you'd get 80. Just thinking out loud.

I never hit 74 with the 33 and Yamas, It ran in just shy of 70.

Gotcha, I assumed this was your Youtube account, stating 74.2, and listing your website and phone number along with options, guess not. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCoK6xydCNE 72.3 http://speedonthewater.com/new-boats...B0aHVuZGVyIl0= |
I should specify. With stock props.
The 29 with stock props ran around 71.5. We played with a few different sets and, much to our complete surprise, it ran 75 with the 5 bladed Maximus that were totally dialed in by Frank & Jimmie's here in Lauderdale. Unfortunately we had about $3k invested in them. It's not that articles are misleading but when testing you go above and beyond to make it run fast. i.e. light on fuel, highest X possible, etc. Probably if the driver and passenger weighed in a little lighter we could have gotten more, too. But our goal is to send them out the door "user friendly". No blowout getting on plane, low prop slip and good fuel economy, as if that exists in a boat. |
That had to be one stout bimini and the mounts to stay completely put at 75 mph. Looked like it never even moved including the bimini itself. That's good to know as well.
I would add that to the list of selling features also. |
So, when do we see video and numbers for the stern drive version?
|
Nice running 29 , just my opinion for ocean running it look's like some tab's would be a nice addition because it seem to be running a little bow high , or that could have been just for top speed ?
|
I wasn't driving.

Pat , Do you think the driver mite have lost some speed by having it trimmed so high like a non stepped boat , Only because it would have taken the step out of the water some so the boat wouldn't get the proper air ration for max speed as when the boat boat is more level ?
|
When we were doing the speed testing fuel economy testing of the boat I drove it and trimmed it. He documented everything.
The pictures taken were just outside Boynton and the photographer was on the north jetty. Randy had to keep slowing down and turning around for her so he had no real chance to hang the thing out. Plus we were dodging traffic coming in and out.
