Actually, a great question.

The tank manufacturer recommends we put 1/4" rubber mat under them and simply thru-bolt. This is based on the thought process of water under the tanks and corrosion. Plus replacement.

Anybody that has ever tried to remove a tank know if it is foamed in you almost can't get it out. It becomes "structure".

This picture was with rubber mat and thru-bolts. However I then foamed them in with 6 lb density foam. It is part of the structure.

Pat hard to tell in the pics but is your aluminum fuel tanks externally coated to help against corrosion issues down the road. Just asking

Something like these in the link

http://www.speedytanks.com/gallery.html

If not there is products today to even clear coat them or even bed liner coatings.

What are your stringers made of ?

I went back and forth and ended up just doing the rubber strips on mine without the foam... I think it`ll be ok too.

^^^^^ according to your picture it looks like you have additional huge structural sound twin fun bags that your fuel tank can be mounted in between for the extra support needed to handle those rough days of offshoring. ^^^^^^^

^^^^^ Seen it before, wait 'till those tiny stringers break during a hard pounding and reveal moisture in hard to reach areas. Looks good now but when she gets older, the keel pad will get wider and stress cracks will appear out of nowhere ^^^^^
