Gas tank return line 37' AVH

Anyone know if the 90 degree fitting that's plugged off right next to the fuel line coming out on top of tank can be used for a return line? Backed them both out and both have a tube hooked up that seems to go the bottom of the tank, but won't pull out completely. Something seems to be on the end of the tube, but I didn't pull too hard either n fear of dropping the end piece into the bottom of the tank. Going to bigger power with whipples and cool fuel system is removed, so need to return unused fuel to the tank. Thanks in advance for any insight!!

Fuel returns will not have tubes extended to near bottom of tank, but fuel pick up's will. Since your spare unused one has a tube, and since it is most likely a pick up, I will guess that it's there for an optional generator.

Right, it's blocked off and not used. You could be right tho, may be there just in case a second pick up is needed?? I have a generator, but it's diesel and obviously has a separate tank. So in that case, maybe that second unused pick up could be used as a return you think? Should the pick up tube be removed or just used as is?

I would use it, just make sure it has unrestricted flow backwards. I had to buy a threaded bung and plan to drill a hole in the tank next to the sender for my tantrum.

If that's where you want it, why not put return in sender or get sender with a return it already. A member here few months ago pointed out diesel senders have returns.
Moeller is one of the companies that offer this.

Ya, guess I am cheap...spent 5 bucks on a bung rather than 60+ on a sender. May put it in the sender if there is room.
