OK, what's the story with this 37? Anyone ever see it in person? Wasn't it for sale by owner recently? The "friend" broker must not normally sell boats since the pictures are less than to be desired.

It was listed in the OSO classifieds for 1-2 days and then the ad was gone.

I've chatted with the guy that has it a few times; as we boat in the same area.

I can't remember what happened, but the owner just disappeared while the boat was in for service. I can't remember if the owner died, or just skipped town or what.

He was able to get the trailer title through VA DMV with a mechanics lien, easily.
But he had to sit on it for LONG while to work with the bank to get the title released for the boat. It was a pain, as they wrote the boat off a long time ago, and didn't even want to deal with it. It looks as though he finally had success getting a clean/clear title so he can sell it all now. I know he wants to get rid of it. I don't know any history on it, and I don't think I've ever seen in on the water. But if you had a good power/donor boat I think you could have a nice 37'er for good money. Remember, it is a straight bottom, so keep that in mind when thinking about power options. The step-bottom AVH hulls are about 10-15% more efficient over the straight bottom.

I believe there are a few 99 steps but certainly 2000 models.

1998 was the first one I think.
But remember the step is and always has been an insert into the mold, so it can be adjusted if needed. So there was some overlap in which this was one of them. As a matter of fact, it might be the last straight bottom 37 built.
