Tantrum vs Savage

Can anybody tell me is the cockpit area in the tantrum much smaller than in the savage. Or are they the same and the three foot difference is in the cabin. Also what is an honest speed one can expect in a tantrum with a stock 502 mag/EFI with a bravo 1. Would lightning headers increase performance? Thanks in advance for any info.

Best I have seen was about 70 with my tantrum with 502mag, extremely lite load and running on fumes. 67~68 any other time.

I had a tantrum. With a stock HP500 and bravo 1, boat ran 73 all day. I have a Savage now. The Savage is about 10 inches wider and I would say maybe a foot bigger in the cockpit and it's definitely deeper. Overall it's a bigger boat. It doesn't matter which model you go with... It's an Active Thunder!!!

My tantrum with a tired 502 mag will tickle 70+ on a perfect day. 65 + any day. And fun as hell to drive. Not a big water boat but it will outrun almost any other similar sized and powered boat in moderate chop. Anything over about 4 ft starts to not be fun unless you are by yourself.

All in all a great little boat.

3-footers is when the fun starts!
You lose some speed in fours, but still a blast in big water.

Almost 18 years with this boat.....Lovin' every minute of it! Added 100+HP a couple years ago and it is a blast to run.
