share your winter upgrades, it's too quiet on here!!!

It's been to quiet in the AT forum. Anyone doing anything exciting for next season? I got a chart plotter I will be building into the dash. 7 inch simrad touch screen. And my motor needed a refresh. It was a 468 with BDS 871 blower. Well long story short is....it's getting a stroker crank and some more goodies. Motor builder says it will be a 496 when it's all done. Hoping for 800 or more horsepower. It's a 98 25 foot tantrum

Not much this winter.

- Drives opened and inspected, were fresh last spring.
- Removed fridge, installing a matching door like what's already in the boat for storage (awesome or put a duffle bag and then some in the space)
- Add 2 more speakers if it doesn't sell quickly in the spring.

Gonna charge the batteries :)

Hopefully new dash panels and new gauges, going to change the shifter handles from purple to silver metallic.

Im trying to get rid of all this GD purple.

Return to tank fuel pressure regulators and LED lighting.
I did enough over last summer... lol

Dahlilama 01-26-2017 01:49 PM

Well I guess I'm a little jealous that people are doing the "fun" stuff. I dont even have a radio yet. I guess new motor is fun. I'm broke!!!!!

toyboat991 03-11-2017 12:44 PM

Would love to see some before and after pics. I too want to redo my dash. Trying how to fit a 7" screen . Gonna be kinda tight. I have a Savage, thinking about a 5" screen

Dahlilama 03-12-2017 01:40 AM

I'm hoping I can make it work. Going to get rid of my gaffrig GPS speedo I think. It doesn't work and the plotter should display speed. I'm going to move some gauges to the port/passenger side if I have to. I don't think I really NEED to have my boost gauge on my side. The other ones are important. I'll post pics when it's done. Going to be a few months since we have 15+ inches of snow coming on Tuesday

Didn't do anything, but got rid of the vst/mech fuel pump last winter and went with an Aeromotive pump and regulator. Added a little green too.
I'm guessing that you bought the blue b

Yes........well, it was blue...and I have to correct my earlier thread - all that is left is the motors. Talk about a make over!

Dahlilama 04-17-2017 10:16 AM

Well it's getting nice out and unfortunately I'm still without a motor. My vacations from work are 10 days long and I'll be using the next one to move into my new (to me) house. Then I have 2 back to back in July and that's for the wedding and honey moon. Then my next one is early September. Seems silly for me to put a motor in the boat in September. Last vacation is winter sometime......looks like no boating this year. SUCKS cancel the wedding?

SHORTFUSE 04-17-2017 03:36 PM

Lol... sounds like we're in the same boat... no pun intended. I'm getting married July 1. I told the future mrs she has to make a choice... Thunder or honeymoon... She chose THUNDER!!!! I must say she's a good girl!!!

Dahlilama 04-17-2017 07:34 PM

Congrats chris! Mine is the week after on July 8th!!! Lucky yours chose the boat! Mine would have been happy either way. She is super easy going but the trip is already paid for. I just realized now that I got all my free time booked up!

If all goes smooth this summer, you and the mrs. should join us for the Hudson River fall run if you don't have the boat ready.

SHORTFUSE 04-19-2017 11:39 AM

Congrats Mxer. All the best to everyone.

Dahlilama 04-19-2017 01:39 PM

Only upgrade for me is billet battery boxes. Been out twice this spring and all seems OK.

Ooops. This is AT thread. Sorry.

Dahlilama 04-19-2017 08:41 PM

That's 3 hours north/west of me. I'm about 65 miles north of the city. I work in the Bronx so I commute. I boat on the Hudson River.
