How many non bravo 37's are out there?
I can think of 4 off the top of my head:
(2) 700/NXT boats (1) Arneson boat (1) #6 race boat Any others?? |
Mine has SCX's. Does that count?
|
Not really lol, but how's it run? What power and what length SCX's?
|
I believe that the arneson boat has yet to run

There is at least one additional 700/NXT boat than you counted for in the original post. I don't know where it's at though.
It used to be owned by a guy in NJ who only had 7 fingers. |

There was one that was owned by a guy named Paul who had a place in Lauderdale and had a salvage yard up in the New York-Jersey area. He and his wife did a run with us in the Keys and handful of yrs ago......fun people.

Nice looking boat! What is the best speed anyone has seen out of a 700/NXT 37??

112 |
LOL I know. I've heard 105 but have any ran faster with some setup changes?
|
I never really played with props and ran under-propped while I had mine. I think with some prop testing it would be in the low 100's...104-107 maybe.
|
I believe that I read the 112 number was in salt with a light load and big props for top end.

The 112 number was never attached to a 700 boat. The speed came from a 525 boat that had Whipples and was a little suspect from the start.
|
do I dare guess who made the 112 claim that was suspect or will my guess be delete???:party-smiley-004::lolhit:

sucks being young sometimes.
then again not really. |
3 NXTs, 2 Arnesons. Outlaw was a Bravo boat, where it ran the best.
|
I was driving it on a PR in the Chesapeake when it puked a drive at 100+ and my hemorrhoids quickly disappeared. I did thank the good Lord above for letting me take the wheel.

I wanted that boat, but wasn't prepared to put SCXs on it at the time. Joe was a nice fella, we talked many times. I think he said went 103 or 105 if memory serves. He was unaware if they were the stage 1 or 2 kit though.
But you can find some videos on YouTube of the new owner in Chile making up for that. |
so pretty much the 112 claim was in a channel with 15 mph tail wind and 8mph current on a cool 50 degree fall evening?

I know a guy with a 38 TG that does that exact same thing
|
bringing this thread back up -- how do the 37's run with Arnesons? I read that each hull was fine tuned for the power originally planned for the build -- is this correct? would a bravo based build accept arnesons as is or would the bottom need massaging?
|
For anybody interested, Randy Sweers just posted one of the three 700/NXT boats for sale….

To my knowledge, there are only two AT's with Arnesons. One is Tibbstoy2's 32 with and the other is laszlo01's 37 avh. Both boats were converted from Bravo's. |

I think the only thing that was ever changed slightly was the height of the step based on power and drives.
