How many non bravo 37's are out there?

I can think of 4 off the top of my head:

(2) 700/NXT boats
(1) Arneson boat
(1) #6 race boat

Any others??

flenner 01-17-2017 04:27 PM

Mine has SCX's. Does that count?

302Sport 01-17-2017 04:44 PM

Not really lol, but how's it run? What power and what length SCX's?

Drock78 01-17-2017 05:34 PM

I believe that the arneson boat has yet to run

I believe you are correct.

Sydwayz 01-18-2017 02:19 PM

There is at least one additional 700/NXT boat than you counted for in the original post. I don't know where it's at though.
It used to be owned by a guy in NJ who only had 7 fingers.

Love them! I have the SCX uppers mated to SC lowers. Standard length with 1.5 gears. Engines are a set of 555ci NA I made that dynoed at 680hp a piece. I run a lot of Fun Runs/Poker Runs and it is nice not worrying about breaking something on a long trip.

Really?? I thought the only two ever built were George's and the Color of Money boat...

boatfreak 01-19-2017 10:15 AM

There was one that was owned by a guy named Paul who had a place in Lauderdale and had a salvage yard up in the New York-Jersey area. He and his wife did a run with us in the Keys and handful of yrs ago......fun people.

It's the same one I spoke of. This is it:

It was affectionately referred to as "Twinsy" for a while. You can see why. I think it may be in MD now.

Nice looking boat! What is the best speed anyone has seen out of a 700/NXT 37??

All AT speed questions have one answer:

112

302Sport 01-19-2017 12:20 PM

LOL I know. I've heard 105 but have any ran faster with some setup changes?

Cash Bar 01-19-2017 03:58 PM

I never really played with props and ran under-propped while I had mine. I think with some prop testing it would be in the low 100's...104-107 maybe.

Drock78 01-21-2017 07:06 AM

I believe that I read the 112 number was in salt with a light load and big props for top end.

Not buying it.

boatfreak 01-22-2017 02:54 PM

The 112 number was never attached to a 700 boat. The speed came from a 525 boat that had Whipples and was a little suspect from the start.

THE 288 KID 01-23-2017 12:17 AM

do I dare guess who made the 112 claim that was suspect or will my guess be delete???:party-smiley-004::lolhit:

You will not guess correctly; before your time.

THE 288 KID 01-23-2017 10:43 PM

sucks being young sometimes.

then again not really.

ActiveThunder 01-24-2017 05:02 PM

3 NXTs, 2 Arnesons. Outlaw was a Bravo boat, where it ran the best.

ActiveThunder 01-24-2017 05:06 PM

I was driving it on a PR in the Chesapeake when it puked a drive at 100+ and my hemorrhoids quickly disappeared. I did thank the good Lord above for letting me take the wheel.

Yes, true. The PO said he pulled 112 with it at one time.

I wanted that boat, but wasn't prepared to put SCXs on it at the time. Joe was a nice fella, we talked many times. I think he said went 103 or 105 if memory serves. He was unaware if they were the stage 1 or 2 kit though.

Pat, did you build 2 with arnesens? What power was in front and how were they overall?

Yep, he's my neighbor. He never ran that boat hard.

But you can find some videos on YouTube of the new owner in Chile making up for that.

THE 288 KID 01-25-2017 02:07 AM

so pretty much the 112 claim was in a channel with 15 mph tail wind and 8mph current on a cool 50 degree fall evening?

I know of Laszlo'a boat being converted right now, but what/where is the other Arneson boat?

Downhill as the tide was going out during a full moon too.

THE 288 KID 01-26-2017 03:07 AM

I know a guy with a 38 TG that does that exact same thing

delsol 02-01-2023 02:45 PM

bringing this thread back up -- how do the 37's run with Arnesons? I read that each hull was fine tuned for the power originally planned for the build -- is this correct? would a bravo based build accept arnesons as is or would the bottom need massaging?

302Sport 02-01-2023 03:43 PM

For anybody interested, Randy Sweers just posted one of the three 700/NXT boats for sale….

I think the only thing that was ever changed slightly was the height of the step based on power and drives.

To my knowledge, there are only two AT's with Arnesons. One is Tibbstoy2's 32 with and the other is laszlo01's 37 avh. Both boats were converted from Bravo's.

Earlier in the thread Pat stated there were two Arneson 37’s, but didn’t give any more info than that.
