Found this on boattrader. Not interested in buying it, just curious about it:

This is absolutely not an Active Thunder, nor anything from the molds that became Active Thunder. (Pat bought 2 molds many years ago, known as Cannon/Thunder at different times, and started Active Thunder from there.
That is a 24x7 hull, made by a lot of manufacturers over the years including Excalibur, Sunsation, Pantera, and many, many others. (24x7 boats are/were about 23.5' long by 7' wide.)
Notice the freeboard and overall height of the boat from keel to windscreen is a fair amount taller.

Heres another question for you. I though all ATs made 1998 and on were all composite. This 1999 is listed on powerboatlistings.com and says its had a new transom. Why put a new transom in if its composite? Thanks.

98+ tantrums are NOT composite. All the forums I've read from years ago state that 98+ are composite. I held out to buy a 98 and its wood transom. I have yet to see a tantrum with a composite transom. Guy on the AT facebook page has a 99 and its wood.

Boat was manufactured by Magnum Express Powerboats, at 750 Copans Road, Pompano Beach, Fl. In business approximately 5 years, building the Tantrum 24 only. They were not from an Aronow or Magnum or Cigarette mold of any shape or length or kind. The new, never used, hull mold was purchased from Bob Saccenti @ Apache Powerboats & a Magnum Express deck was tooled. Apache never made a boat from the mold. The beam was 8'. It had a pad bottom, stepped transom & reversed chines & ran exceptionally well. Magnum Express built approximately 75 of the Tantrums in the 5 or so years they were in business.

I owned these molds at one time and built several with 2 x 2.4 Mercs and one 3 x 200HP Mercs that went to the Bahamas.

Where did that quote come from?
First boat built with that mold had a stepped bottom and a race deck - this was the first race for Charlie Haimes as the navigator and sponsor of the boat.

The first part of the quote about Charlie Haimes was posted by Mccaffertee.
The second part was mine . I purchased a bare hull/deck and ended up buying molds , origination papers , boat manufactures license.
