Thunder Run
 

I've been talking to Pat about doing another Thunder Run and we may have a few options. He would like to do a run down there in March if there is enough interest and I've been thinking about putting one together up in Michigan later in the summer. There are several new AT owners over the last few yrs and it would be nice to get everyone together if the interest is there so let's hear your thoughts.

Sounds good, it's been a while since the last one! For the one this summer in Michigan I know of a place we could use as a "home base"... :party-smiley-020:

I would be interested in a Michigan Run. New to the AT lifestyle. Now just gotta get boat back together.

Well were would you guys like to get together? I thought we should probably get something lined out as dockage could be tough in prime season. I would like to do it in August but I don't care if we just stay south or go on up towards the Boyne area. If we go ahead and go up there we would have the option of staying in Charlevoix if we get a bad weekend. I know the Boyne area well from doing the Boyne run so I know the marina and the town would work well but like we do with Boyne Thunder we would probably have to stay out at Boyne Mountain. I'm just throwing it out there but I'm open to whatever you guys what to do.

West Michigan Offshore is having a run late august just FYI...I believe that is the south haven run so the municipal marina will probably be packed if its the same weekend....if nobody cares that I come in my Nordic I would vote somewhere north as I've never ran past south haven so would be good to see some new scenery...just my .02

How many people do you think would be interested in the Michigan run? I keep my boat in Portage Lake (Onekama). There are three ports close to there, Manistee, Arcadia, and Frankfort, Leland if you wanted to go that far. If interested in using that as a hub (Onekama), I could look into slips at Portage Point Inn.

I'm not really sure what to think on a count but I would think we could have 8-10 boats. Like I've said from the beginning I'm open for whatever on location. I'm afraid this forum is pretty dead anymore so maybe FB is where this needs to go if anyone wants to try there.

I agree that this forum is dead. It's sad because it's so much better than FB. You can't go back and look posts up for info on FB, not to mention, OSO's page and others like it, are so better organized.

I'd be in if no conflict with my schedule. I'm out of Grand Haven the majority of the summer.

Would you please explain what you mean when you say warmed up to someone that keeps the boat at Cumberland all summer and swims in bath water.:drink:

I've heard nothing and if we don't do something before long I'm going to shift my focus to a houseboat trip. Your hot rod and Harvey can eat on Cumberland. :cool:

West michigan offshores rock the coast run is aug. 24th-25th and michigan city races are aug. 8th. How about between the two or maybe do the run before the races and stay for the races? head north for the run maybe to ST. Joe then on up to south haven , holland or do cumberland.

Aug 24-25 is also LOTO Shootout.
